If you're a subscriber to this thread (and especially if you're the OP), you need to tell yourself, firmly, that now is the time to enter your team into the BE Maple Leaf 2012-2013 fantasy EPL league.

Less than one week left before the season starts.

Oink & JamesM have kindly provided some very polite and clear instructions on how to enter the league here:

Suprising that Pardew is as far down the list as Wenger and O'Neill @40/1. Have O'Neill or Wenger ever been sacked?

Those putting us down as relegation fodder really haven't been paying attention to Laudrup's signings.

This guy is apparently close to signing too.

I think the 7 years without any form of trophy was a big reason why RVP has made the sensible decision in the end.....oh yes and the vast amount of money he will also be paid.

He should get plenty of service at his new club.

Of course if he had been fit half that time maybe they would not have gone that long without a pot.

Hell, they couldnt even beat Birmingham in the league cup, so hes not entirely without blame is he! Taken off for Bendtner, the shame of it!

The often talked about Liverpool comeback must start next week??

Great fan quote on BBC "Liverpool fans need not panic. Rodgers has proven once that he can avoid relegation, I'm sure he can do it again."

As I stated before Liverpool are not frightening at all on paper and worse on grass.

WBA were probably licking their chops after Liverpool's over hyped pre-season.

Didn't watch it ( was collecting the new puppy today ), just checked the score on my iPhone. Good grief.

As Frankie Boyle said in a Tweet, the Liverpool fans will be watching Channel 4 tonight, not MOTD.

Season starts tonight I think. The favourites ( in my view ) in action. Will be interesting to see RVP as a neutral.

With Fulham away to Man Ure and us at home to the Hammers, its a distinct possibility we'll be top come Saturday evening. If Newcastle do us a big favour of course. :)

Modric finally left today.

Lloris and Dembele are apparently enroute.

It would be nice if they added another striker. We'll see.

I'm looking forward to transfer deadline day!

Frankly, I'm not. Wenger is sniffing Cabaye's bum and Mancini has obscene plans for Tiote and likely Captain Colo.

F*** off the lot of you.

Anyone see Berbatov going back to fill a Modric shaped hole..... personally I think it could be a smart bit of business.

I don't think he would fit in with AVB's vision. He likes players who are very mobile apparently. Hense why even Michael Dawson has been told he is surplus to requirement.

I guess. Still seems bizarre to me that a player like Berbatov cant find any takers. Was it really only 2 seasons ago he was top scorer?

I agree. There most be more to it, probably something on the lines of greed, power, money?

Would you prefer them to say 'we can win the Premiership' which is clearly even more unreasonable in the foreseeable future ?

I am not a Liverpool fan and I have no real preference as to what he or Liverpool say..and yes I agree given the current squad at Liverpool, top 4 is probably the best they can hope for..but when there are another 108 points to play for, to come out and say it would depress me (if I were a Liverpool fan)........

Sliced his leg open jumping in two footed (Scholes passing on his "technique"?), feel free to google gruesome pics.

Good news for united anyway, they wont have to play him for a couple of months and then its anyones guess when he will be able to get back in the team. Well, obviously that will be the next time RVP gets injured, so shouldnt have to wait too long.;)

Greenhill Aug 29th 2012 9:08 am

Re: The Toon Army / EPL thread

After getting his leg gashed open, Rooney immediately jumped up off the ground and hopped around (about 15 hops in total) in front of the referee. Although Rooney's leg is gashed wide open (and hopping around probably increased the gash somewhat) the important matter for him seemed to be getting awarded a free kick.

That was then followed by a rather bizarre reaction from Danny Wellbeck, who marched over to the scene, trying to look useful, and, on seeing the open wound made a sharp 90 degree turn while doing some fluttering-hand gesture.

Not for the faint of heart:
