Of course, in the future once the biggest (richest) European teams eventually split off to form a closed shop colossal money spinning superleague, something like that may have to come to pass...

Newcastle, through no real fault of their own, only have one fit centre back (who, although usually good in the air, is really a Championship class player), so if Carroll can't do well on Sunday it's not their fault.

I expect that, as I type, LFC types are working on that in a backroom in Boston as a future third away strip. After all, they already have the blue one sorted:eek:

Or, in the case of Andy Carroll, an Anus Horribilis.

Liverpool now remind me of watching Man Utd in the 73-90 era......a chance of winning the odd cup or two but absolutely no chance of winning a title.......its a very enjoyable viewing experience.....

Well done Newcastle for their totally expected and routine victory....

3 points behind spuds, but it's still a very slight chance. I'd be ecstatic with Europa league & 6th, never mind any higher?

More to the point is that we're point-level with Chelsea. 5th guarantees the Europa spot, but sixth only goes when one the top 4 win the FA Cup*. Just think how annoyed you'd be if Liverpool win it.

*Or am I out of date? It's been a long time since I had to worry about such things. :)

A rather pleasant day in the Premier League. An emphatic Spurs win and a loss for the scuzzy bindippers. Please give KK a new contract.

Liverpool have the league cup. So if they win it, and the other lot are spurs or chelsea I don't think it matters. Now if Everton win it...

Ah. Is that how it works?

OK so 6th for the Toon and anybody but Everton for the Cup?

God I suddenly feel a great hatred for Moyes in development.

I think so, but could be wrong. Makes sense that way though.

The Graunida report...

"Pardew attributed Cissé's excellent performance to diet. The striker's two goals here took his Premier League total to seven since his debut in February – two more than Carroll has managed in the league in 14 months at Liverpool. "We had Africa day at the training ground on Friday," Pardew said. "We made him feel at home by having curried goat for lunch. It was lovely.""

AKA Curried Carroll.

Yeah, as prizes go that's a bit "third prize in the church raffle":) Seems odd to move it to Belleville, but I guess its a question of getting as many people out as possible under the circumstances.

The atmosphere in the village over the weekend was absolutely amazing. Barry would have been absolutely thrilled to bits.

OR

he tripped over the ball in front of an open goal.

Never a penalty.
I tend to think that the FA have secretly employed a sniper to visit EPL grounds over the last few seasons and have instructed the sniper to target certain players of all clubs.

Well, no, it never was a penalty. He was booked for diving. The manager suggested that maybe he had already lost his balance. Yeah, right, pull the other one.

Well it was Kenny the King (Messiah, Saviour) who said that
Some of his post match comments have been somewhat strange over the last few matches. I guess he is starting to feel the pressure of being in charge of a once mighty club. I feel your pain as I went through this in the 70s and 80s with Utd.
Ah well time to sit back this afternoon with a few rums and see if we go 5 points clear.
Also it must really hurt having Everton above you
If its any consolation you are still 3 points clear of Fulham, Swansea and Norwich;)

Sorry ABUs there is always next season:p
I know its not won yet but if Le Arse show up on Sunday and we win on Sunday with an earlier kick off you wonder if the 8 point gap will cause a further Citeh implosion and Balotelli meltdown and Tevez to **** off again.

I think you know how much I lurve and reeespect Manure, but if Citeh are out of the race and preferably in meltdown and disarray before we play them at SJP in the second last match of the season, I won't be shedding crocodiles.

<I certainly hope the match will still matter to Toon by then though>.

I will give the Toon credit for their performance this season though Im glad we dont have your May fixture list. 4 x tricky away fixtures will be a test to see if you have the determination to push for European football next season.
You can always park the bus against Citeh.
