FFS, take a reality check man. You are the manager who agreed it was OK to sell those players!

I seem to remember when Kean was appointed after big Sam got the sack Kean and the Indian owners were resetting aspirations for Champions League. Instead big Sams new team could be swapping places with his old team.

Did he?

It seems under the new owners they have become a selling club. If you are not allowed to retain your best players and are not given any resource to replace them then why should you be blamed.

The fans aren't happy with anything up there and they shouldn't be- but is it really this man's fault? He is a victim of poor circumstance just like Hodgson was at Liverpool.

Right, but hEs always full of this "the owners and I have a plan" crap. If he didnt point out that selling the best players and not replacing them was going to likely result in relegation, then he should be fired for negligence. If he went along with it as a good idea then he should be fired for incompetence. If he pointed it out and they went ahead anyway, and he thinks anything will change now, then hes even more delusional than I thought, and I didnt think that was possible. He is the most delusional man in world football. If the owners are undermining him then really he should have walked while he still had any credibility left.

I used to feel a bit sorry for him, but its too much now.

Don't get too carried away. I think the current wave of support is rather more instrumental than emotional. :)

After the season we've had, we'll take whatever. I'm also practising my rendition of 'Deutschland Deutschland'.

Its almost like he's realised that Newcastle have moved on without him, and no other bugger will buy him as is, so he might as well give a damn now, isnt it?

Either that or the fact a nice long summer break is just around the corner.

I hope this bodes well for next season, but that light at the end of the tunnel is more often than not a train coming the other way:eek:

Carroll was seriously good for a year and a half at Toon. It's been a (not too) secret pleasure to watch him struggle since, but I think Pool will get something for their 35M in the longer run.

6th place for Chelsea. That must be their lowest finish in the top flight for quite some time.

Downing is dog poo. I still want the bindippers to batter them more in the second half if only to hear King Kenny's post match interview. ;)

Nice comment here from Simon Burnton doing the grauniad MBM, "If John Terry wasn't John Terry, but was some 20-year-old debutant playing exactly as John Terry has played tonight, he would have been substituted after half an hour, and would even now be preparing for a summer free transfer to Leyton Orient."

:)

Re: The Toon Army / EPL thread

If Carroll thought before the match today "if I do my hair up in a ballerina's bun it'll give me more poise" ... it worked.

(But no need to act like such a girly twat by clutching his face, right in the view of the ref, when he took a minor elbow in the chest.)

And while I'm at it, why does he constantly have to wear that "I've had one pint too many" expression on his face?

I'd have thought for the obvious reason. He is, after all, a Geordie.

This is getting funnier.

Although before KK and the rest of them get carried away Chelsea is resting a lot of its players.

Final 4-1. That leaves Pool just a point behind Everton.

What's it worth to you Reds for Toon to beat them at the weekend?

Interesting post script to the Suarez affair

I did like the tweet from FRankie Boyel about the Chelsea/Liverpool Final though

" I think this FA Cup Final is going to be an intriguing contest between two slightly different types of racism "

Have a look at the Grauniad footie page today. They have the nominations for season accolades (5 in each category) including:

Player of the season: Tim Krul (Toon)
Manager of the season: Alan Pardew (Toon)
Signing of the season: Papiss Demba Cisse (Toon)
Goal of the season: both Hatem Ben Arfa (vs Bolton) and Cisse vs Chelsea (both Toon).

Just saying....
