Easy win for Spurs then. Toon took 4 points from Manure this season and Spurs did the same to us.

Clearly Spurs are better than the Mancunians.

No shape or work ethic in the Tottenham midfield.

The Newcastle game gave them an unrealistic perception of how football should be played. I would've bollocked them at half time for not tracking back and pushing too high up the pitch thinking that they are always going to score.

This game was a good kick up the arse.

Arsenal will lose to Liverpool on the weekend and then once Milan beat them at home they'll all be back on Wenger's case again.

Tottenham will end Manchester United's title aspirations.

There's a first time for everything I suppose.

On the other hand Arsenal and Chelsea both win and Man Utd squash the marshmallows. On the bright side SAFC win to keep NUFC from closing the gap.

:o Instead I think that makes 8 goals against in two games and third place for Spurs is by no means assured....

I also think it's very short sighted on Chelski to part with their manager.

Totally agree.......now I know that there isn't a great deal of class knocking around the EPL but the total lack of it at Chelsea amazes me.......they have ridded themselves of at least 3 of the worlds great managers in the last 10 years and allowed a small group of egotistical low class thugs call the shots from within their team.....

You never post anything approaching constructive on this thread just cheap jibes. I really don't know why you bother.

Well my lot didn't get much luck today either. A point's a point though and with Liverpool losing the Toon is 5 clear of seventh. Only 9 more matches now.

Someone could well end Man Utds title aspirations in the near future but the chances of Spurs being the team to do it always looked pretty remote.

I prefer to let the team do the talking. There again if I had said earlier in the week that Utd would win then all the ABU's would be calling me a typical arrogant Manure fan.
If Utd played bad today and still won away 3-1 to the 3rd placed team then Id be hating them to hit form.

Yeah some soft defending and lapses in concentration cost them dear today.

I don't know how Fergie does it but it doesn't seem to matter who he puts in the Manchester United team the discipline in their defending is nearly always spot on.

Good thing Chelsea lost or there would be alot more heat on Tottenham.

A relatively easy run in now so I still fancy 3rd spot.

I disagree that United played badly. That is their typical away performance. Sitting deep absorbing pressure and punishing teams when they make mistakes. Sensible way to play although they were aided today by some sloppy defending.

Tottenham may well have to trade some of the entertaining and pretty football for some steel if they ever want to progress higher up the table. I'm not sure I want that as I've really enjoyed the games this season but the defending needs to improve.

He's starting at right wing at Highbury. He'll be right back later. (dyswidt?).

Bugger. 95th minute dodgy goal. Bugger.

Realistically that's the end of any miracle finish in the top four. We have 10 games left in which it'd be nice not to let Liverpool (or anyone else) overtake and then be in the Europa thingy next year.

But in expectation management mode, even that isn't something that was on the radar in August. It's already a season to be satisfied with.

The same is true for e.g. Swansea and (although I hate to say it S********d).

But ... If someone had given you the Europa bollox at the start of the year you'd have bitten their hand off, right?

I'd have laughed in their face. We won at the Arsenal last year, which was nice. Carroll scored the goal (gone in Jan), from a pass from Nolan (gone in the summer) to Barton (gone in summer). Jose Enriques played a blinder (gone in summer). The manager was Chris Hughton, who was pulling it all together.

In the summer we signed Demba Ba, who I knew a little bit about from his time with Hoffenheim, on a free. This didn't at the time seem to compensate.

I'm happy that I was wrong.
