I agree, I think the old 40 point target will be lower this year

As a Liverpool supporter I would be delighted if Spurs won over the Manure.

Harry in the past has done wonderous things with very little, a little like Martin O'Neil.

Thumps up indeed. I have nothing at all against Spurs and would love them to finish above either Manchester club, and preferably both. Best of luck.

But the Toon will still thrash you.

WTF is the bridge? Stamford Bridge? Don't make me laff.

Any team that has John Terry playing for them and a Russian mobster paying for them is a joke.

I'll take the FCB over what you have. Although obviously we'd both prefer alternatives.

If you're OK with JT, how about Torres? 50 big ones? Hahaha.

If they get within six points, with three or four games to go, I'm going home for it all. If we win it, there will be 30,000 + in the streets of north London.

Things must be going well if Assou-Ekotto scored a goal. I'm with Oink on this one. If we get a sniff of a chance I'm heading to WHL and using my membership to get tickets! Don't give a shit what the airfare is at the time...

Part time supporters

All credit to Spurs though probably the least hated club by Northerners.
Will Arry be able to keep hold of his squad though?
Bale valuation of 60 million is a bit rich though still a better value than Carroll at 35 mill.
Will Modric stay or go?
Interesting times ahead of the Yids.

We play Manchester City (away), Liverpool (away), Arsenal (away)and Manchester United (Home)in our next six league games.

The other two games within the 6 are Wigan and Newcastle.

If we are still within 3 points of the top after that then anything is possible- we would certainly have the easiest run in.

No one will leave because they will requalify for the Champions League.

It's just a question now of getting work on the new ground going as that will really be what determines the long term future.

I agree, why would a player want to leave one of the top three for a lesser team? And the sooner we start on our new ground the better.

If that's in order then the first in the list is the lynchpin. Win and you're point level with Citeh, lose and your six points out again without that game in hand.

Draw sounds like a good idea to me.

Bon chance.

BTW, we've got QPR at home then Fulham and Blackburn away for the rest of Jan. Not (I hope) particularly daunting even without Ba ad Chiote. Yes, I still have a spark of hope left (for the CL not the top).

1-0. Toon are back to sixth. Now if your Swans can just beat Arsenal 4-0 we'll be fifth.

Bon chance!

Isnt own goal now their leading goal scorer seeing as Demba Ba is at the ANC?
Not exactly a convincing win but 3 points is 3 points.

Not quite. After today Best has 4, some distance behind Ba on 15, but edging O'Goal who has three. :)

Excellent news today. It seems that Toon have signed Demba Ba's Senegalese international strike mate from Freiburg for a reported 10M euro.

Papiss Demba Cisse scored 22 goals last season in the Bundesliga and has notched 9 in the first 15 games this season. He's 26 and has a real goal scorer's first touch.

I'm rather happy.

<Of course knowing our luck, they'll both get crocked in the ANC>

Looks like a decent enough player. His English is about as good as my Senegalese though.

Does this clear the way for Ba to go?

I'm backing the Toon to finish above Liverpool!

Given his background, I should think his French (& German) are passable though. Pardew's taking lessons.

Eh?

On Ba, "Arry's claim that there's a buy out in his contract is only partly true. It can only be activated after the season's over. He wants to renegotiate before then. (Likely in case his knee gives out before then).

Of course, if Liverpool offer 20 million quid plus Andy Carroll, they might get a deal. :)

Supposedly Liverpool are looking at Bent and Defoe which doesn't look good for Carroll. Stranger things have happened.

Canadians birds think we’re all posh like Colin Firth or Hugh ****ing Grant, and we go “oh crickey, um, um, how’d you do? Would you, um’ like to touch my ‘how’d you do’?” What a shock when a Canadian girl meets tattooed ‘Pete’ from Barnsely and he goes “I bought you and your mate a couple of Bacardi Breezers but one of you’s better be up for a f**k.”
