What a difference a season makes eh.

Ah a bit like Liverpool fans a few seasons ago when hoisting banners saying come back when you have won 18 and constantly banging on about their 5 European cups? Well we will be there next season not with 18 but 20 but still only 3 european cups;)

I wasn't talking about the world in general as you well know. I was referring to your posts, on here, on this internet forum, by you, personally, yet again. There always seems to be an element of the unpleasant to your self named 'banter'.

This is actually cruel and unusual punishment for me.

Do I root for S********d? Unthinkable. But if Villa win the Toon is in grave jeopardy of the drop the way they're playing now.

I'll vote for a draw.

2-1 to Villa at the half though. :(

I feel your pain. It’s funny how football can turn certainty upside down and leave you with quite the moral dilemma where you give up and just end up hoping for lots on injuries on both sides. 3-1 now.

If anything, you should probably hope they don't "let" Villa win by 5 or more goals.

On course for that it seems. Still Toon shouldn't have "let" the scousers win by 5 goals or more.

I suppose the upside of this is that there's a slight chance that we could avoid the drop AND finish above the mackems.

Win-win. :fingerscrossed:

We're still ahead of Villa because we've scored 2 more goals. Blow the ****ing whistle before that changes too.

I wasnt actually gloating when I made the comment about Pardew or the NUFC season it was a statement of fact. Challenging for a Champions league spot one season fighting for relegation the next. How is that gloating?
I still find it strange that Pardew was given an 8 year contract. Hell even SAF never got an 8 year contract.
There you go again though making assumptions about my banter?

For NUFC:

West Ham - Big Sam usually does well against NUFC
QPR - surely 3 points for NUFC
Arsenal - no contest

That's about right, but West Ham have Andy Carroll so I expect a 0-0 draw.

Re: The Toon Army / EPL thread

I don't know much about Wigan this season, other than they've been good enough to get to the FA cup final and bad enough to get themselves relegated.

I suppose, what they have going for them, is a game-in-hand and, if Aston Villa are safe, they'll probably not put a great deal of effort into beating Wigan on the final day.

In saying that, 5 games in 15 days, including an FA cup final, could be quite an emotional rollercoaster for them. It really doesn't look likely that they'll escape relegation but I'll stick with the prediction I made up-thread... just for the fun of it :)

Two things could happen against West Ham...the Hammers are safe and have nothing to play for and would prefer a club like Wigan to go down rather than Newcastle so wont try too hard Andy Carroll will fluff his lines deliberately against his home town club and Newcastle come away with a win.

Or Newcastle now under a lot of pressure cant pass or keep the ball for toffees, West Ham have nothing to play for with no pressure play relaxed football Andy Carroll decides he needs to be in top form for the upcoming summer transfer window bangs in a couple goals for an easy win.

If Newcastle play like they did at the weekend it might be hard for Carroll not to score! Put Nolan in the mix as well and you could be looking at another six!!

That reminds me, i must take Steven Taylor out of the dream team!!!

I'd certainly fear Nolan over Carroll. The former has made a habit of scoring against us since he was let go. Time will tell.

Thank you for your insight, but I can think of at least three and given the goal difference/goals scored tie breakers, there may in fact be several more.

You'll be a great pundit soon I'm sure, but in the meantime don't quit your day job.

It's not over yet. Barca have at least 13 minutes to score 8 goals.

If Wigan beat Swansea on Tuesday then there'll be a significant chance that any of these 10 (ten!) teams could be relegated:

Swansea
West Ham
Southampton
Stoke
Fulham
Aston Villa
Norwich
Newcastle
Sunderland
Wigan

PS Man utd vs Swansea on May 12th!
