what, Stone's and a blended Scotch? Why yes, yes indeed. That's been the go-to tincture in my hip flask for many years, and has a long tradition as a warming drink on a cold day (science notwithstanding).

Buffalo Bill's favourite drink was a Stone Fence, (a mug of cider with a shot of rye in it).... Because he's an ancestor I tried it, effing terrible. :(

Well, I wouldn't waste a good single malt on it, but that's what the Bell's or, in my case, Teacher's, is for.

If it's Teachers you can have a pass ;) It might even be an improvement.
In my teens I used to like some of my dad's https://images-na.ssl-images-amazon....JL._SY445_.jpg |

Teacher's is one of the nicest blends. And nothing wrong with spicing up a bit of ginger wine with a dram.

Re: Random stuff - the anything else thread
I nearly always drink malts too, Old Pulteney being my favourite. But even tonight I had a blend, a Ballantine's. Perfectly pleasant in a way that Grouse or Bells just doesn't do it for me.
A blend I used to really enjoy but honestly haven't had for almost 20 years would be Black Bottle. |

Not in my book it isn't. Grouse, JW, Chivas, even Grants are superior. Although these days, I tend to stick to malts.
Single malts, of course, are a different kettle of fish altogether. To be enjoyed with just a splash of (tap) water at room temperature. Hmmm - I've got a bit of a thirst on, now. My mouth is watering for something suitably medicinal - maybe a dram of a Speyside malt - a Balvenie or a Macallan, or perhaps a Highland Park, or something a little peatier from Lagavulin or Bruichladdich... not sure I've got anything else on the go at the moment. |

To drink with soda or (if you must, Bristol) with sweet pop, possibly over ice as a long drink, then I would prefer a "premium blend" from Johnnie Walker or Grouse (the Black Grouse is quite nice). But for a whisky mac I actually think Teacher's goes very well.
