British Expats - Random stuff - the anything else thread

Before I read further down the article, I felt the photos not so much art but more comments on a modern life which would be great for the generations coming behind us all. Then he wrote as much himself. His project is working as it is meant to.

If I just hung those photos in the gallery space they'd pass, but made you look in any case. :thumbup: Listen for the interview tomorrow. Hey, maybe he'll take my picture while he's in town!

I had been thinking it was a family thing. Apparently, many years ago, before I was on the scene, her grandmother found her purse in the freezer while getting something out to thaw in readiness.

Remembering that she last used her purse a few days previously to buy some meat and that she normally kept her purse in a drawer, it was with some trepidation she opened the drawer to find...

I don't like coincidences. For that reason I carry on looking after I find what I want just so it's never in the last place. :nod:

US companies have cut quality so much, made in China is better quality. Made in USA aquarium and it's formed bubbles between the 2 panes of glass, which compromises the integrity of the tank which means higher risk of leaking.

The brand used to be good, but in the drive for higher profits they cut quality.

Tanks coming out of China are of better quality now...

Those bubbles are the issue, means water is getting into the seams, and being brand new that is a bad thing, may not fail today or tomorrow, but will at some point.

Hopefully the store will accept it back as a return (only got it a few days ago) or the company who made it will honor their warranty.

It's a good project, but the photos displayed in the CBC article were (with the exception of one) not much better than snapshots.

Yep and they are not exactly light and it's a pain in the rear to fill then drain, and take back.

Got a replacement this evening and it's doing the same, same brand, but different lot # and different employee assembled it (they put the employees name on a tag on the glass on the bottom with the lot # and date.) so it appears they have just cut too many corners or they send the duds to Canada where it's harder to return for warranty since they are made in the US.

This brand used to be good, one of the best, but seems its about making them cheap these days.

When it snows here driving ground equipment becomes a bit tricky, no snow tires, no chains, and the airports don't spend much time learning the apron area.

Even more fun with 3 carts of bags, the bags alone are 4200 pounds...add in the weight of the tug + snow or ice = not so much fund...:eek:
