Interesting incident on the 'what would you do' theme...

The father was physically stopping the attack on his daughter, and then was concerned the man was going to die before emergency services responded.
Slightly different situation to a revenge killing or the killing in cold blood of the death sentance dont you think?

So would it be ok if Jun Lin's parents pulled the switch on Magnotta?

And if he does plead insanity, as you point out the fact he made a run for it would weigh heavily against him as evidence he was sane enought to know he had done something bad.
No doubt the media circus around the trial will be immense, and hes certainly going to have his 15 minutes of fame isnt he. Job done from his perspective? I wonder if it was worth it in his mind.

Didn't say it wasn't, it was just a tangent article. I did not suggest the circumstances were similar just that it tied in with my posts a while back on 'what would you do' where Is aid I would kill them and expect to be dealt with by the authorities without state sponsored homicide.

Instead he beat the shit out of him (well, enough to kill him) so to me that would imply revenge in that context.
I have no sympathy for the dead guy, i don't know the full details, but i would imagine the dad would have done the same had he got a hold of the attacker at a later stage (days or weeks later).
I guess this brings the whole reasonable force into it, as well as the courts and officials tolerance for public anger if the dad had been charged.
Either way, if the dead guy did what is reported, then good riddance.

) in Montreal that may be able to help.
