Manhunt for Magnotta

OMFG :scaredhair:

Seriously don't read it if you are easily upset. Or just ate.

Nutter.

Looks like there's one in the making in Greater Vancouver. Somebody in Maple Ridge is mutilating cats, and has been for a while now.

Something like 1-10% of the population are estimated to be psychopaths. This makes most psychopaths look charming.

When I read the title of this thread I thought it was going to be about someone having their leftover pasta stolen from the office fridge.

As well as everything else with this case, the fact that there's a video of a killing and mutilation online posted by the killer, that just makes this whole thing even more unreal, like something out of a movie or tv show. I have no words to describe how horrific and wrong this whole thing is.

I just hope they can catch this guy and lock him up.

Same goes for the Maple Ridge cat killer, people who abuse animals often go on to abuse humans. The guy in the above case started off mutilating cats as it says in the article.

We seem to live in ****ed up times. What about the 12 year old in the UK convicted (but not jailed) for raping a 9 year old after exposure to online hard core porn, or the arrests in ontario for 400000 child porn images. You have to wonder how this kind of thing can be controlled and where it is heading... Frankly not having internet at home may be a blessing. How many "normal" people here clicked on the links to video of the murder scene out of curiosity, or worse still are seeking out the snuff video. Makes me sick to be honest.

Same thing here in Napanee, two youths accused of drowning a cat and a dog for pleasure. There are established links between this sort of thing and other "more serious" crimes, so I hope the cops are on to that, cos the courts seem largely toothless.

Might this have any connection to the washed up feet? Did that ever get resolved?

It is truely worrying, what kind of sick perverted world are we now living in. I worry for my kids.

I doubt society is any more sick than it was in days gone by.

Some of the things First Nations used to do to one another were far more gruesome although, I admit, they didn't post such things online.

I wouldn't have fancied having to run a gauntlet, and, by all accounts, that was minor. IIRC, grannies used to stand there with their sticks.

I accept that it is likely that nothing like this every happened in the days of our parents;)

You dont think the constant bombardment of sex and violence in the media and online has any effect in skewing people views of what is "normal", leading to the breaking down inhibitions about acting out fantasies that would otherwise remain in their heads?

Im not at all so sure.

Jack the Ripper just as one example of a pre media/online psychopath.
