Been a bit of a popular few days for cannibalism hasn't it?
BTW, the death penalty is stupid, because there are always endless appeals that cost a fortune to ensure that they absolutely have the right person. Cheaper to put people in prison for life.
Unless you're someone like Rudolph Hess.

Yes at great expense. My point was that in his case life imprisonment was very expensive.

The feet thing in Vancouver has been going on for years I believe. Mostly they do have sneakers or running shoes on. One school of thought is that if you do go overboard in the pacific, the feet are the most likely bit to become detached from a body and survive intact, enclosed in a plastic or leather sneaker with presumably a slighly bouyant foam sole. The prevailing currents will wash them up in that neck of the woods, like the tsunami harley that recently arrived there.
Gruesome, but perhaps reasonable, so maybe there is no "foul play" where the washed up feet are concerned. Its one theory anyway...

If so they could be from a tsunami victim (or I suppose anyone who drowned somewhere in the Pacific).
There was an article I read - somewhere - that mentioned about feet eventually becoming separated from drowned bodies and, if they have sneakers on, they will float and follow the water flow around the Pacific.
I'll see if I can find the article.

That will make sense then
