The alleged crime also wasn't uploaded onto "Best Gore" completely different set of circumstances and cannot be compared to Magnotta, who incidently is on suicide watch easy way out for that evil tosser.

How will the trial help the family? According to most that have posted on this thread, he did it. If that is correct, what has the family to learn from the trial?

The family have been quoted as saying they want justice to be served and want the trial, they realise it's not going to bring their son back but still want the culprit to face the music. Makes perfect sense to me.

That dreaded word 'closure' I suspect.

Maybe the family thinks that if found guilty he will receive the death penalty.
Oh I forgot he is being tried in a Canadian court not a Chinese one.
