Yer on!

Y'never know, we might still get our winter vacation, it would be so nice not to be embarrassed around the pool.

So Monday is 'D' Day!

so this thread was supposed to be a motivational and inspirational one and so it has turned out to be!

so inspired was i by your determination PP and coffeepot, that yesterday i went along to our local Curves (i'm in the UK) for some info and signed up there and then!! i have my first session booked in for tomorrow evening!

i almost left it until i get back from hols at the end of september but thought if i left it til then i'd probably forget that i was going to do it, so may as well do it now! i should be able to get back there either friday evening or saturday morning, then 3 times next week before flying off for 10 days hols in the sun (plenty of walking as we're not hiring a car this time, and a huge, usually empty, swimming pool to get in lots of lengths)

i haven't asked about the 6-week challenge thing yet so not sure if they do that here in the UK, but if they do, then i'll be looking at that in october.

thank you for your boost!!

btw - did you get back to curves last monday as you promised??

That's fabulous! Hope you enjoy curves as much as I do and I'll bet you hate the same two machines as I do too!

I did get back Monday so I am in the swing again. I will go tomorrow and Friday to make my 3 this week!

Weeell, I'm back to the Curves thing, but can't get motivated back to the 6 week solution I start every morning in the right direction it's just not happening at night - what with the Puppy saga, trying out the new SuperWalmart at Sylvan Lake and Cathy bringing in homemade brownies, it's not been condusive(sp?) to solutions.

I was talking to a friend who is doing Herbal Magic (Herbal life in UK), she has lost a stone in 4 weeks, so I might give that a go for a month and then fix my metabalism afterwords

Hi PP Well done for getting back to curves, get back into the swing of it and you will feel so much better, only you can do it same as me keep waiting for that magical pill to do it all but it isn't happening here

have a friend that does that here, if you can stick to it it def works and gives you an energy boost.

walk past the brownies the brownies or compensate by doing more exercise, i found that really helps, the thought that i can have a treat i just have to do more to balance those scales my thing is chocolate,
I can understand the comfort eating after the puppie aww doesn't mean there won't be another puppy, my OH said no more when we had 2 and then our lovely retriever Honey had pups we were going to keep 2 the other 2 went to friends but an old neighbor came to visit and fell in love with Maple and begged to take her, i had to convince him to let her go so we ended up with Treacle aww so don't give up on it, when the time is right got to be strong only we can do this for ourselves

My Curves swipe card now registers 2!
plan is to go next monday, tuesday & thursday but as we're off on hols on friday at 6.30am and i'll have packing and paperwork to sort out thurs eve that one may go by the bye!
they do run the 6-week challenge but are probably not running one until the end of october (for the run up to christmas) but i've had a quick flick through the membership book (a bit daunting) just need to spend a bit more time reading it
PP - for the record, i don't particularly like the obliques machine but the rest aren't too bad (so far!)

karma and inspriation for next week everyone

YAY! Good for you. I managed my three last week so I was happy with that.

I really don't like the dip shrug machine and the squat machine, I would be quite happy if they didn't exist.

As for the 6 week challenge, it IS hard work, measuring and weighing and even eating 5 times a day, but it does make sense. My Curves is running another one at the end of Sept but it's at lunch time so I'll not be doing it.

I'm really thinking of losing a bit with this Herbal life thing and then fixing my metabalism afterwards. The thought of planning and measuring food at the moment is really putting me off the Curves thing, even though I know it works

I'll be working out Tuesday, Wednesday and Friday next week.

Good luck for next week everyone.

hmmmm, don't think we've got the dip-shrug machine (i'll have a look on the posters tonight), and don't mind the squat machine (once my knees stop their crunching and grinding lol)

and not sure about planning and weighing, my planning always lets me down, i can do it for about a week or two then it goes to pot, it's ok if i only have to sort myself out as OH is too bl**dy fussy sometimes!
when i was doing slimming world and writing everything down i found that i was actually eating something every 2-3 hours either meal or fruit or something and found i lost weight better than if i had "3-square-a-day" as it were!
am having a bit of a chocolate fest at the moment so hoping that next week's holiday in the sun gets me over that (foreign chocolate just not being the same as UK (and melts quicker) as you would know in canada! )

yeah good luck with yer weigh in CP.

My days have changed so will be exersising Wed/Thur/Fri instead - hate doing three together and I really don't have the umph to go today

The dip shrug is the one where you have to pull the bar to your chest and push it back down past your belly button and so on.

Herbal Life is a shake for breakkie, one for lunch and a protien bar and normal tea - a bit like slim fast I suppose.

I saw the dip-shrug on the wall poster, don't mind them too much with free weights not sure how it would be on a machine, but since they don't have it at my curves it's not a problem lol

problem i find with shakes is I miss the chewing! and i'd miss fruit! i did the atkins for about a week a few years back, couldn't cope without fruit and pasta!! lol that's why it was only a week!

going for a haircut (gotta be worth a couple of pounds! ) then another curves session tonight, that half hour really does go quickly. i use a heart rate monitor that also times the session, with a few extra stretches for my back last night total time was 38mins and it just flew by!
