Welcome! You will have to cut down on the
though
Your weight loss and maintentance is fantastic - a gold star for you!
I have been doing the Curves Smart for a month now, my strength is up, my BMI down, my weight down 1.75lbs and inches the same. Been eating what I want though. After Crimbo (and after gaining back the 1.75lbs if not more) I will get back to a eating regime.
See you soon!

I already have (cut back that is). The hardest thing to do - but I'm not giving up completely - EVER, NEVER, I have to have some pleasure...
Sounds like you're doing great - headed in the right direction and that's what counts!
Onwards and downwards peeps

OK ladies. New Year - new you !!!
How are you all ? How 'bad' were the Xmas hols?
I am proud (?
) to announce no weight loss whatsoever in the past 12 months - but haven't put any on either - I am a sneaky interloper on this thread and I need a proverbial kick up the derriere.
Get kicking

OMG I dont know whats up with me but since I have been here its like I have hibernated. I bet I have put on about a stone, all my clothes that finally arrived are getting tight and I just went and bought a pair of trousers in Sears and they are a size 18 so dont know what that is in uk sizes....bet its about 20...
.I did so well last year before we started getting things sorted....so since I cancelled weight watchers and the gym last May I have been on a downward turn.
I have no excuses now to go to a gym as there is one down the road from here and I passed my driving test and even bought the bike I mentioned some months ago....so I too need a kick up the backside.
Both of us have retired early so not working, and still having to live with MIL until houses sell in the UK. If I dont do something I think I will go mad.....:curse:

Got this in an email - pretty much sums up how I feel !!!!!
After Christmas
================
'Twas the week after Christmas,
and all through the house
Nothing would fit me,
not even a blouse.
The cookies I'd nibbled,
the eggnog I'd taste
At the holiday parties
had gone to my waist.
When I got on the scales
there arose such a number!
When I walked to the store
(less a walk than a lumber)..
I'd remember the marvelous
meals I'd prepared;
The gravies and sauces
and beef nicely rared,
The wine and the rum balls,
the bread and the cheese
And the way I'd never said,
"No thank you, please."
As I dressed myself
in my husband's old shirt
And prepared once again
to do battle with dirt
I said to myself,
as I only can
"You can't spend a winter
disguised as a man!"
So away with the last
of the sour cream dip,
Get rid of the fruit cake,
every cracker and chip
Every last bit of food
that I like must be banished
"Till all the additional
ounces have vanished.
I won't have a cookie
- not even a lick.
I'll want only to chew
on a long celery stick.
I won't have hot biscuits,
or corn bread, or pie,
I'll munch on a carrot
and quietly cry.
I'm hungry, I'm lonesome,
and life is a bore
But isn't that what
January is for?
Unable to giggle,
no longer a riot.
Happy New Year to all
and to all a good diet!

Thats getting printed off right now and will stick on the fridge when I clear it out tomorrow.....only one small piece of christmas cake left and the chocs I can actaully do without.....thanks

Well I was thinking of waiting until more of the left over goodies (shortbread/cheese/choccies) were eaten, but seeing as I seem to be the only one eating them
I think maybe I should reign myself in, get myself back to Curves and on some sort of diet and get kick started for the summer! (warm -5 temps have reminded me that mosquito season is just around the corner
).
Some come on girls lets lose a pound or to ready for the sunshine

I am doing the Special K challenge! (as well as Curves)
So far in one week it appears I have lost 5lb - we have our official Curves weigh in in 3 weeks (I'm doing a 4 week thing with them) so I'll let you know how I do!

Hello everyone! Long time no see. Well I did great on my Special K diet - lost 7lbs in 1 month and then couldn't face another box of Special K. Not been very good at the diet and excersise lark lately, off to Montana for a week next week, so after that, it's back to Curves and back to dieting

I am the same, have not done anything I promised I would do, I bought a bike when we arrived, and we have now been here 6months and its still in the garage. I've had a peak in the gym but not joined yet. I have put on a good few pounds whilst we have been here:curse:
Most of my clothes are getting tight as well.
I was planning to perhaps visit the UK in May but feel a bit down on the weight gain. Perhaps I should just book a flight then that might kick start me to do something about it. Cant understand why I have not got my positive head on as did really well beginning of last year and even got quite addicted to the gym. Perhaps resurrecting this thread might prompt me now I have written it all down.

I really think the winter saps energy and good intentions - one thing I do regularly now that I never used to do is eat breakfast, even if it's just a granola bar, I eat something in the morning and I also drink much more water than before - so that's good.
Soon be time to get that bike out, I'm planning on cycling to work - OK so it's only 2 minutes away but cycling will be better than driving

Ok - here's where you don't know enough about me! I walk the dog for 30-40 mins every morning, I then go to work where I stand on my feet, I then some afternoons walk the dog for another 30-40 mins (daughter does it other days). I have Plantus Facilitus (sp?). If I spend too long on my feet all day everyday, it gets to the stage where I can't actually walk because of the pain - even with orthotics and pain killers. So I have to be careful of when I spend time on my feet and when I just have to stay off them.
