ok - all you gals and guys out there
Firstly - congrats to all of you who want to shed a few pounds and have done -
but my question is ------
What the hell is a size 0 ?
Surely in any language zero means nothing - nill - nada. How can you have a body that is nothing??
I was a skinny girl in my teens in the UK and I remember going to Principles because it was one of the few stores to have "petite" section - that is (was) size 6 or size 8.
And now we have ZERO ---- how did it happen and how can any 'normal' happy - self-fufilled and curvy loveable woman be a bloody size zero. A nothing ?????

I have no idea really, but I'd hazard a guess that my ankle or perhaps mid calf might be a size zero ?!

Hmmm! :curse: We have people comming in and trying on a size 2 and then they ask if we do zero. I just feel like saying 'Why don't you go and eat something then you'll be a size!'
The reassuring thing about working in a clothes shop though, it doesn't matter what size you are - you'll still sruggle finding things to fit you
Wednesday I start my Kickstart your Metabalism thing with Curves. I'm following the High Protein one as they have worked out I am Carb' intolerant - so I'll keep you all posted.

It's sad really, isn't it - I mean really sad. I remember going from kids clothes, pretty much into an M&S size 12. I think I had a size 10 phase for about 6 months ! My hips were never going to be anything less.
Physiologically, you are what you are. Even if I went the anorexic route, I think my hips would still be a size 12. I have wide wrists, large-ish feet and I have always righteously claimed that I am big boned. But I am, and compared to some of my friends, my wedding ring is a bracelet for them!!
You can tone up, you can get or stay fit but the bottom line is that unless you want to look like Skeletor, you need a bit of skin and flesh to stay healthy. Now admittedly, I have a little more skin and flesh than I'd like right now (
), but to get to a healthy size 14 would be bliss for me, rather than a waif like size 6 about to pass out while eating my lettuce leaf.
However, a few people, and really it is a very few people, are naturally that size - their bone structure dictates they could always be small.
I just want to shout out to teens these days "just go for "healthy" people"

I did not know wether to join the gym or what to do, I have never been large for my frame but wanted to lose 15LBS so.....
I bought a mountain bike a cheapo from Walmart and ride every day for 30mins and cut out sugar, bread, butter, fried food, and take outs.
RESULT 8lbs in 3 weeks
I eat as much fish and chicken as I like with veg or those cheap noodles the ones that are like 6 packets a buck.
For a snack swiss cheese pieces by the laughing cow only 30 calories each.

Hello peeps!
been a while since I posted on this thread. Congrats to those who have lost weight, been exercising etc whilest I have been MIA! This thread really does help to provide motivation
On the whole size 0 thing, it is soooooo wrong! I remember working in Next in the UK and an American guy wanted to buy a pair of jeans for his girlfriend. He brought a pair of size 6 jeans over and asked for something smaller as they would swamp his girl! I politly told him that that was the smallest size we did and he was lucky to find a 6 as 8 was normally the smallest. He looked at me like I was crazy
Recently looking for a dress here in Canada for a wedding I am going to at the end of this month I found one I really liked but was horrified when the size labels ranged from xxs to s!!!
I am currently trying to get used to a vegetarian diet (not through choice) as I have raised uric acid levels that can lead to gout (I am not a 50 year old man honest!) Protien (especially meat and fish!) is now my enemy so am getting used to soy burgers, ground veggie protien and tofu (all of which taste pretty much the same!) Carbs are supposed to be my new best friend but I am insulin resistant due to having PCOS and should limit my carb intake as a result (so WTF I am supposed to eat?) Needless to say I don't look forward to eating much these days! There are also a number of veg I can't eat and alcohol is a BIG no-no
Oh the joys of being me
I have bought a pair of roller blades and plan to go out on them now my street has been cleared of grit, and the gym is calling my name. Time to stop making excuses and just go for it
I have lost 50lbs in the past and know I can do it again, even with the challenges I am currently facing!
I hope you are all having the success you desire and if not I hope my story has helped you feel a little less hopeless
Good luck everybody x

Speaking of sizing ---------- I have recently been back to UK - I KNOW FULL WELL I am a size 10 to 12 but I bought size eight clothes in one shop and even got a pair of sixe 6 trousers in Next.
That would never have happened a few years ago .....
So is UK sizing on the labels getting smaller ??? Is it so that pudgy teenagers can feel proud to fit into size eight clothes when really they should be a 12 ? Is it to stop the teenagers feeling obese and then becoming anorexic ?
Is it a general fashion trend or what? And I am not the only one ...... a friend of mine recmetly bought all size 10 clothes when previously she'd always been a 12 to 14. When i was growing uo in UK size 8 was the smallest you could buy - now 20 years later I'm still in a size 8 or even a SIX - and I know I am bigger. It doesn't make sense !!!!
