We know what you are going through with the doggies, we have a Cavalier King Charles, who we love to bits, he is 6, we are not taking him with us as we feel it isnt fair putting the dog through the whole process, we are lucky as a family member is taking him, although a friend of ours put their dogs in the classified for sale and got really good homes for them, there is always people out there looking to adopt dogs, the only thing is NEVER put them in the classified as FREE TO GOOD HOME as you get all the scumbags of the day looking for a dog, If someone is looking for a nice wee dog they will pay for them, also you could speak to the local shelters they could get them a really good home, my best friend got a lovely dog from them, they vet everybody that comes looking for a dog, it is a really hard decision to make and it is up to you at the end of the day and what you feel is the best for the dog.

Just thought I would mention that we are also leaving our dog behind. We really understand what you are going through right now.It is a very difficult, as we too love our Jack russell to bits. We have had her now for three years and have found this, the hardest decision to make. Our Vet has advised us to leave her behind because he feels it is unfair to any dog through it and also because Amber is a very nervous dog. So for the past year we have been looking for the right owner. Never mind the Visa process this I found even more stressful.
We have tried four couples since last year. The first we felt were perfect as she loves going to the local with my husband, which I might add is very often. The land lady classed her as her own anyway and have looked after her numerous times while we were on holiday. But their circumstances changed.
Second couple had a cat and they never got on.
Third only wanted her because she was house trained and free
NO WAY.Then the couple we met six month ago who moved over here to retire 6 said they would love to have her.
They live walking distance to the beach:thumbsup.
They also said they understand how we feel and if we decide when we are settled that we really can't live without her we can arrange for her to be sent over.
Its awful when I say this but I will miss my dog more than family as she has always been my baby and spent everyday with me since she was 8 weeks old.
. The offer of being able to take her really appeals but like the Vet said. Its unfair and I feel after 6 months of being with them it would be even more cruel to take her away from them. So we have until Friday next week. One week left with my baby. Joanne x

It may be quiet on here, but there is a lot going on around me, my other daughter got an offer on her house today, the people want to be in by the end of August. Last week she tried Feng Shui, put some things in a red envelope and then threw it in the nearest river, can't say if it works, but she got an offer today, if any one is interested in trying it, let me know and I will find out what you have to put in the envelope
Other daughters buyer wants to be in by the end of July, can't believe after all those months of waiting its all happening so fast now, so much to do and think about and for me a lot more looking after the kids cos they all so busy

We're not bringing our cat because she's so nervous - she really wouldn't survive either the journey or the quarantine.

Just to let you know when we moved into my MIL's we knew we had to say Goodbye to our overactive, beautiful 4 year old german shephard-Nellie! We did think about tajing her with us when we evetually go, but she has be re-homed with a retired couple (the in-laws friends) who walk her for 3 miles everyday and recent photos of her show her looking very lean and fit and seemingly is Top Dog down her new street. Ray (her new owner) has been teaching her new tricks and she escorts him to the pub where she has her own chair! So as much as we miss her we are sure we have made the right decision and we have been very lucky to see her get settled, so if anyone needs reassuring although it is hard to do, and we hate to admit it, but if the dogs go to the right home, we miss her more than she misses us!
