Hi all,
Just read up to date and I CAN'T BELIEVE so many of you are still waiting. Whats happening?. Any way I hope its not for much longer and we hear more good news before the end of the week. (fingers crossed).
Feel terrible now, as I wanted to ask you lot if anyone had booked their flights from Manchester to Adelaide on July 1st. We have finally booked with Singapore airlines. So if anybody has done the same give me a yell. I would love to meet one of you lovely Augustees face to face.
Also I need advice on booking an Hotel in Singapore. I read somewhere a few weeks ago that a certain hotel was great and highly recommended. Thought it best to book somewhere as we land at 6.00 in the morning and don't catch our next plane until nearly midnight. Any advice would be greatly appreciated.

Yeah I second that - sorry to hear your viewers have changed their mind Mottie - sure there will be some more around the corner.

After checking our shipping quotes we found that Burke Bros had only quoted us for 360 cuft whereas John mason were 460cuft - there was only £100 between the quotes. We have decided to go with JM as apparently if you get can under quote you and then charge you more when they get the shipment! Cheek of it eh! JM are letting us take a few more items too for no extra charge.

Hope we get some visa grants and house sales soon - good luck all

Phoned to DIAC today. They say that allocation of case officer is not linked to HR or LR country and COs are assigned in the sequence of applications received. Currently they are processing applications received on 5 June 2007 (that is also written in weekly letter).
I believe that is true for my case and I'll have to wait another 2 months at least. However it is surely not the entire truth as we can see from many visas already issued. Congratulations to the lucky guys. It will remain the secret of DIAC what kind of rules they use to assign COs earlier to many applicants...

there is a transit hotel in the airport, and it's very resonable price, i think it only worked out to be about £23, ( that was 18 months ago ) we had a 9 hour stop at Singapore, so we hired a room with a full bathroom, it was lovely to have a shower and a good sleep. (make sure you set an alarm, or you can arrange for a wake up call). I think you can pre book a room, which i recommend, as i think they are full a lot of the time. we were lucky we only had to wait about half an hour for a room.

yes, i've heard that hotel is great!
many use it and if only for a few hours to take a shower or get a couple of hours of sleep.
i think you can only book it in blocks of 5 hours?! (something like this ...)

Good Morning All!!
Lets hope at least one of us is getting the visa today - just so we know that they are moving along... we still don't have a case officer officially but I am telling myself that we don't and they just haven't told us yet... we planned to leave in July - I am still hopeful that somehow somebody will just move us along and we will get the visa within the next couple of weeks.
I don't even want to look at flights at the moment - they have propably gone crazy since I've last checked...anyway HAPPY THOUGHTS....
