Unfortunately many on this forum made a "gross error of judgement" in "buying" property there and consequently return out of necessity

Thank you Santan for stating what may seem obvious to some of us but not all of us and reminding people why this is so. Of course this is why people return as they are still tied in to Goa due to the property issues. Which 4 years down the line continues to remain outside their control and ability to influence and which for this reason causes some of the bad feelings which are aired on this forum from time to time. it's not surprising as this whole situation is one where people cannot take hold of their own destiny. always a problem and is a negative influence in their lives.! Those who are not affected by this cannot possibly understand why this is so hard.

Santan was answering my post; my query was because some of the people complaining about the awfulness of Goa do not have property problems. Also I see so many posts about British 'selling up' how is this? I know, as I said, there are many exceptions and a loss on your investment will probably be made.

Certainly those not affected do understand the problems, as I have said many times that Indian people I discuss the matter with are appalled and have disbelief at the situation.
After all many Indian people also have property problems and "cannot take hold of their own destiny" so very well understand. (Can PM you with many stories if you are interested!!)
I know a reply will come "This is about the British" but if you are in India you will expect an 'Indian' situation, is that not inevitable?

It's symbolic (like most religious festivals). Useful also for family get-togethers and 'having a good time'.

On a more more serious note, if anyone doubts that India is crippled by overwhelming corruption, read this article right through..........

http://www.ndtv.com/article/cheat-sh...mmittee-414810

Whilst Goa has been looking for an excuse to pull out of the Lusifonia Games, that Congress did b*gger all about and BJP has belatedly spent crores on but still unlikely to be ready for.

I certainly was not aware that India is banned as a nation from participation in International sporting events, and that its athletes are entering as "independants". What a mess.

I will await the inevitable response from the inevitable member, telling us that this is nothing to do with India, its corrupt upper echelon........ and totally the fault of the rest of the world

Re: In To-day's Newspapers

That is certainly an eye opener J5.....it just goes to show how entrenched corruption has become within the Congress Party. Most persons faced with this would have resigned for the state of sport in India, and not hung on because of some personal principal. How venal and self centred can you get ? I could say its another example of Indian arrogance and bloody mindedness verging on paranoia when ever outside authorities criticize Indian institutions - but i never said that did I ?

I can't think of any posts put on this 'Forum' that didn't agree that there is "crippling" corruption in India, from the Government and filtering down.
Above is certainly a ridiculous situation with Lalit Bhanot clinging on to his job.

Leaving that aside, at least congratulations for Leander Paes, US Open Tennis, doubles champion with his partner.
He was 'labelled' as Indian!
(Now has 14 grand slam doubles titles.

Re: In To-day's Newspapers

I would say this is more than a non starter.....where do they think they can land and take off from ? There is more floating junk coming down the Mandovi and the Zauri creeks, they aren't rivers,to make this very hazardous indeed. i would never get on a sea plane unless it was somewhere with out floating garbage to interfere with the sodding floats...
