No one touches Curlie's in the republic of Anjuna Its name crops up whenever there is a discussion on institutional drug consumption. It exists literally in no man’s land and follows no rules and laws. The police acknowledge that it is under their drug watch list, the local panchayat says that the structure is illegal. |

Gay Pride And Prejudice : A Not so Gay Life in London 27 Jan. Herald Review (page 2). Selma Carvalho investigates the lives of gay Goan men in London and discovers a life of sudden dangers and intolerance. Being gay is the silent secret in many Goan families. It negates the very idea of Goa-hood which is underpinned by the Church and the family. And though the teachings of the Church produce a remarkably tolerant and liberal society it also produces a parochial cosiness which makes us shun debates of such issues… www.goanvoice.org.uk |

Upgrading of Enforcement Directorate in Goa. Apologies if this old news!! I am aware of a number of show cause notices issued to foreigners owning property, but not aware of anyone being issued a show cause in respect of a company. Has anyone any knowledge of the show causes to companies? If so do they know the details of what the DoE are alleging on these? Dread - x |

http://www.business-standard.com/ind...goa-cm/500359/ Quote from article: The WTM, held in November 2012, saw participation from Goa whose delegation was led by Tourism Minister Dilip Parulekar. Khaunte pointed out nearly Rs 1 crore was spent on the delegation which took part in the event. Hmmm, 1 crore or £118,000 at current exchange rates spent to attend a travel mart  AND that was before the recent visa price increases - I can't really see any of this helping British tourism to India in general - never mind reversing the decline of British tourists visiting Goa. Hello People! It has been a long time since I logged on to the site but I see that the same old problems are going on. We are now living in Cambodia where we get a year visa every year without leaving, in fact we don't even have to attend an office. We give our passports and one photo each (no paperwork) to an agent and 5 days later we have a new visa! There are many people from Goa here and all say they are much happier and hassle free. Tuvalu
