Ok, while you're typing, i have a question for you.

If your husband were to find himself demoted and/or suffering a salary reduction below his old UK employment and unable to provide a financially beneficial lifestyle for your family, would you stay in Canada or would you head back to the UK?

I didn't mean to stay so long away when we came here and I do feel a traitor. Educated people, not meaning me in particular, should stay to counter balance the chavs. The Uk might be better for it. My greatest attribute is that I might be a piece of work, but I'm good to the soul and hate to see anybody or anything hurt.

We won't talk about my husbands plumbing...It's in excellent order and I'm smiling, enough said about that.

I was in Calne 2 years ago I thought it was alright?

The poverty stricken life is hard to answer. The poor are less violent here, but the monetary benefits would definitely be better in Moss side. The kids would be better off here I think. The drug problem isn't as severe although it does exist.

Your heritage and culture you have given yourself to another one.

Explain what we are running away from again. I've travelled around cos I want to enjoy life, there really are no other considerations.

Yes, but you are settled in Canada are you not? Canada is getting the benefit of your life, your experience. Maybe if you go back one day it's ok. Are you going back one day?

The thing about heritage is that I can keep it and share it. Will I go back? I don't know. Quite fancy asia again, but maybe I'll be settled here, or maybe I'll be back in the UK. Not planned that far ahead. I'll be here for a little while yet though

Why should you love a piece of land? It's just dirt and rocks with arbitrary imaginary lines drawn on it.

No it's much more than that. Britain is a magical land. It's full of legends and ley lines and then there are the crop circles. I went in one two years ago. It was an incredible experience. It's not just dirt and rocks by a long chalk

I'm not rising to this piece of comedy... nice try though

I don't have contempt for people that do some of those things, but neither do I understand the attraction of doing them. I agree that a subset of your list is contemptible (e.g. dog fighting)

I probably have stronger expressed feelings than you do. remember I'm a vegetarian with a strong love for all Gods gentle creatures

God eh?

It is another debate. Darwins theories don't need fans or believers - they have this thing scientists call empirical evidence and observation to back them up. It's actually amazing that his theories on speciation and natural selection still stand 150 years later.

No, I absolutely don't agree, but if I start on that it will be a massive subject that I don't really have time for. On other boards, I have had debates lasting for months that have been full time jobs with the research and so on and in the end I'm usually the winner

Is that so?

Jung again!?- you are obsessed woman.

Yes I love him sooooooooooo much. A genius par excellence.

I'll take your word for it
God? Ley lines? Crop circles? Hahaha - nice one. You are either mad or hilarious - I'm sitting of the fence until more evidence presents itself.

Alan, I knew you would say that, a man of strict science.....I can't live without a bit of magic!

There doesn't need to be anymore evidence for me. I'm telling you there was a definite buzz in there and it wasn't a bee.

Nope. Not my type.

And there you have it. You've answered the big question you were looking for. You remain in Canada whilst it's financially beneficial, even though the intellectual and historical offerings are inaccessible. As soon as you're unable to provide a financially beneficial lifestyle, you're leaving.

Interesting

All my family are a bit chavastic, but I love them anyway. 3 members are bouncers in Blackpool clubs, no wonder I thought Calne was alright.....No I just went through Calne on the bus I didn't get off,but through the window it was all green hills and bleating sheep. I must have missed the rough bit.

You're Peggy Bundy and i claim my £5

Who is she what have I told you about the telly...I don't watch it except for movies.

Enough said. This speaks volumes

Look, i'm sure you're a lovely woman in real life, when you're not trying to be something you're not. I hope you stay around if only for the fun factor of berating you and your flawed generalisations.

Something I'm not? I just am! People should be allowed to be who they are. I personally love whoever is different.
