Lets get to Colin Wilson, he wrote a book called the outsider now I'm not surprised that you misunderstood it with you not sounding like a marginalised person.I didn't have to know that it was based on a Camus novel to still get a lot out of it.

Undoubtedly I will read the Camus novel it sound like I would enjoy it.

I moved around tons as a kid also hence the bad grammar, too many schools
and chopped up lessons.

When your kids are young It's easy to stay in Canada. It's very good for them.
This reminds me of the scene in "The Office" where Brent and the university student discuss Dostoyevsky

Edited to add: I, and pretty much most others reading this understand that you're trying to have fun and seem intellectually witty. We're having just as much fun proving that you're failing at it.

Keep trying though. One day you'll become a decent master debater.

I don't believe you hold a degree and I will continue to do so until you prove otherwise.

I will give you the year 1989. Once people know what you do or are educated in, It's ammunition I have to be careful....If it was flower arranging I would gladly admit it.

Why that's very kind of you. You haven't put me off but i do thank you for your concern. Luckily having lived in Canada over the past decade and own property there, i have a feel for the place.

Your lake does sound lovely though. I've just been gazing at the few day old gosling's and coots on the river thames. Lovely!

I didn't know that one could obtain a degree in international espionage. Are you Walter Mitty and have stated you are female to throw us off the scent?

Don't make me jealous about the Thames. I love it so. I went Greenwich along it on a boat. What a fantastic place Greenwich is.

But I have to dash for now...

Laughing about the office just wait until I have some ammo! Love that Ricky Gervais, hilarious

Ah, so you are "a marginalised person," I take it? Strange, though, that despite your professed education, intelligence and leanings towards both Jungian psychology and existentialism you were unaware of the work of Camus, arguably one of the key popularisers of existentialist thinking and the title of whose masterwork was "borrowed" by Wilson. Wilson himself, by the way, has been almost universally derided since the publication of "the Outsider" - which even one of the people quoted in the blurb later admitted he had not actually read. Lynn Barber interviewed him for the Observer in 2004, and from the tone of her piece could scarcely contain the giggles.

I can assure you that they don't.

(Right now, I feel like I'm trying to train a cat - a cat that would prefer to spend it's time licking it's own arse.)

BTW kate, you never actually posted a reference or a link to the StatsCan report on return migration parsed by educational level.

I can't find it. Could you help?

She was just paraphrasing him thinking we wouldn't spot the reference. To be honest I wouldn't have done (thank you google), but the 'voice' behind that post seemed so out of kilter with every else she has posted that I thought she likely copied it from somewhere.
