Maybe we'll be renting a bit longer than we thought just to get the most out of ££££s!

Lincoln Navigator?! Oh you do know how to win sympathy don't you. I got 2.27 when I exchanged back at the beginning of the year <grins smugly> and I don't have a Lincoln Navigator so neither should you have one

The swimming pool was kissed good bye when the rate dropped from $2-35 to $2-20 earlier this year:curse:

No swimming pool either eh? Life is going to be tough. What happens if it drops below 2? (No, not the hot tub!)

Spot price at the close today $2.0690

If you want to buy Canadian dollars at the TD bank you'll only get $2.0304

Just saw this article in the Vancouver Sun, thought it might be useful to those who understand the USD/CAD effect on sterling.

The combination of record-high oil prices and a weak U.S. dollar has sparked increasing speculation about the Canadian dollar surpassing the value of the greenback for the first time in 31 years.

I hope the rate stays above $2.05 for all you people who are so close to exchanging. I know how frustrating it is..

Its hovering just above 2.05. My guess is it will be at 2.04something by the time the markets close today. Very f*****g frustrating as I finally managed to get my UK stakeholder pension transferred to Canada and they are now planning to convert it rather than hold it in Sterling!

We are remortgaging, the people over there are saying we may need to pay their bridging loan. We might have enough to pay for the house but we'll have to walk everywhere. The exchange rate is going to be a killer, I'm seriously thinking about dropping out of this Canada thing and cutting my losses.
