Interesting, but the mutations would be random so have no real net effect.
Where as in evolution the negative mutations would have a negative effect on the owner and the same with positive mutations, having a positive net effect because the creatures with a good mutation would have more offspring.

The negative mutations would die out, as they would not be better adapted to their environment. Consider a child born with Downs Syndrome 200 years ago - I wouldn't rate its survival chances very highly.

A positive mutation doesn't mean that the owner will have more children. It means that it gives the owner a better chance of surviving, so that this new positive gene has a better chance of reproducing into the next generation.

Remember positive genetic changes are about adaptation to environment AND survival for propagation. What may be a really positive adaptation in one part of the world may be of no use in a different part, so the environment plays a huge role in evolution too...

My, look how long Eve's hair is. She's been really busy growing that.
So is this before or after the snake incident?

Ok Hutch I'm very confused by this, and trust me that is a very easy thing to do.
Are they saying dinosaurs were created by God to be wiped out by a flood 4,300 years ago because he regretted creating them.
Then suddenly he decided to create Man in his own image.
Please tell me that this kind of religion doesn't have a huge following.

Besides if this is true poor dinosaurs, don't they have rights too not to be randomly chosen for extinction because an all loving God doesn't like the look of them.

Give dinosaurs rights is what I say

Remember man was about before the flood as well. I presume God was trying to avoid turning the Great Flood into the nightmare of Jurassic Ark.

I am afraid it does - viz the court cases over "Intelligent design" and Creationism as school subjects in various US states.

The first picture shows a huge date difference. 125 million years in one and 4600 in the other. Do the god squad not believe the results of carbon dating then? If they don't where is their evidence that that dinosaur lives 4600 years ago? there not mentioned in the bible are they?

First dip into this excellent thread for me
I work with a large contingent of Jehovah's Witnesses [if that is the correct plural] I've asked about Carbon Dating in the past, the standard answer is that it has been "consistently proved to be wildly inaccurate as a method of dating anything" I always ask if it would be more acceptable if it proved their theories instead of decimating them..............................

I find religion to be a comfort for many people worldwide, for me I believe it's a kind of code of ethics combined with practicle set of rules. e.g Jews don't eat pork = hot country meat spoils very quickly, sensible idea to ban it's consumption. Ditto the sacred cow in the Hindu world. There are more cynical ones such as the Catholic church's stance on contraception = Hey Pontiff we're in danger of being out bred by other religions! O.K lets ensure we all have large families to keep the numbers up.

Cresta, even if carbon dating were inacurate it can't be THAT inaccurate I mean that's a 125 million year margin. Anyhow I thought there was a second more reliable method now of dating and using the two combined methods still gives dates in the millions of years.

I too think religion is all about control, look at what's happening in the world today, as religion shrinks as a control method due to science and man's awakening from the dark ages, we are quickly replacing it with new forms of control, dare I say 'the war on terrorism', CCtv cameras, new draconian laws all thinly desguised as helping us but in reality just another form of control.

Sorry must have missed this cracker. Shame that jehovah's not still about, because if the dinasaurs were put there to shite everywhere and fertilise the place so the roses and plants could all grow, what did old dino eat then? Which came first the dino or the roses?
