Hmm, was just about to open an account with WestPac..... If ANZ & national are the nearest..... decisions, decisions!
Good work if you're a builder
What are your views on the schools - Comet Bay Primary & the College?
Also what's the general consensus about the new train line? I bet it's angered a few people now it's been put back a few months?
Cheers,
Chris

We can not get Crown down anymore same as you £3750, must be there bottom price they will goto, have had cheaper quote but like you say Crown seem to be more professional so it looks like we will have to pay the extra.

We've been quoted £1670 for 327 cubic feet, full packing service (shared container) with Excess International. They're the cheapest so far. Still toying with leaving larger items behinds and just shipping out personal stuff. Decisions, decisions!

After months of reading BE I thought I would join and say hi. We're arriving in Perth early September with 457 visa. We'll be in an apartment (arranged by OH's company) for a month and then we need to find accommodation. We tried selling our house but didn't so will be renting it out (hopefully) for the 4 years we have a visa for.
Looking forward to seeing you all out there. Have added our details to the list. Unlike most people on the list, we have no kids, so moving for us might be easier. Having said that - I'm dreading the goodbyes. Although it will be great not having everything in boxes as we have now!

OH keeps watching that haggle program in the morning with Don whatshisname. Hasn't done us any good at all! We are useless at it!
Might do the same as you & just bite the bullet We need to get it sorted ASAP really!
We looked into leaving most of our stuff & just buy everything new but we decided against it, there is no easy way to make the decision
I know some people on here have said take everything because when you get over there you will have a job filling the Aussie houses up with the stuff you've got! But then again it would be nice buying all new furniture & stuff As you say, decisions, decisions!

Where abouts will your apartment be? Any ideas yet on where to settle or are you going to do most of the research in your first month of being there?
We are originally going to stay Mandurah/Secret Harbour area but once we are over there who knows?!
Do you plan to apply for permanent Visa whilst there, go back after 4 years or just see where things lead you & then make a decision?
Anyway, again, welcome to the forums & if there is anything you want to ask , just go ahead! We are all freindly on here... well most of us anyway

Hi,
I would definitely say that is worth spending the extra £'s to use crown.
We used them when we came over and they were fantastic both ends, could not fault them.

Hi Chris - guess it's a lot harder for you guys with kids! But I think you're right - it'll be nice to have some familiar stuff around us - and will also be nice to buy some new ozzie stuff (specially for the garden!). Bring it on
Have been speaking to a lady on Poms In Perth and recommended this thread to her for the Meet Up, they're arriving in November - hope you and Mad Chef don't mind?
Cheers

OH's company are booking an apartment in the Centre of Perth (or so I understand). Secret Harbour sounds great though. We are telling all our relatives "it's only for 4 years" but if we love it, who knows.....
We're planning to fly via Hong Kong for a stop off. Not the most direct route I know, but we thought we might as well as OH's company are paying!!!
Looking forward to the enormous BBQ party (veggie food too I hope!) - I can't believe there are so many people going to Perth at the same time. There I was thinking it was only us who were paniking!!

Welcome Carol & Nigel
We've done Hong Kong before on our way out to Sydney. Fabulous place, sure you'll love it. Bring an emply suitcase with you for all that shopping! Going direct to Perth this time to get "stuck in"!
Best of luck!

Hi all,
Been reading bad reports about Crown Relocation on another forum : PomsinPerth. It might be worth having a read about it for those of you looking to book with them.
We are using White & Co and for a 20ft container we are paying £3250. We are shipping as it is cheaper than buying new but we are not that attatched to our stuff really. Mainly the kids stuff that will take up all the room! We are using Letton Percival for our insurance but still have to book it.
