Breakfast In America!

Re: Breakfast In America!
Do you live in some sort of Twilight Zone? Poached eggs are a very common breakfast food in the US, I always order them when I am out because I always make a huge mess when trying to do them myself at home.
You probably only get weird looks because you ordered something not on the menu, and it's a pain for them to work out how much to charge. Tip them well when they make an attempt, next time they'll try harder when you are being awkward.

Oh well....but yeah, don't see poached eggs very much down this way, but did up in Maine a fair bit, usually eggs benedict though.

Now I used to love eggs benedict, but breakfast at a French place has ruined it for me; their Oeufs en Meurette were amazing.
(poached eggs served on garlic croutons with pearl onions, bacon and champignons in red wine foie gras sauce, with pommes frites)
Even the chips were great.
