Depends if 'F up' was a phrase or a progression

Yes. It's so complex I had to set myself on fire after writing it.

Curious - I went out yesterday and asked for Poached Eggs on toast - Oh the trouble it caused!! I should have stayed at home and made them
Whenever I ask for it in US i get some toast with something which looks like an egg in the bottom of a cup
I said yesterday just toast 2 piece of bread - put a bit of marg/butter on it and then plonk 2 poached eggs on top - one on each slice of toast!
We had issues especially as i asked for a bit of grilled tomatoes on the side - i even said it Tomaaatoes
Eventually it arrived but why was everyone looking at it as if it were really weird

What i really wanted was french toast with bacon but too damn fattening!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
I have no idea by the way if i have posted this same post earlier in the thread. If i have then shoot me down in flames - Im from the boro im tough and my shoulders are broad

You're asking in the wrong neck of the woods I guess.
That's how I make 'em, always have always will.

Maybe try asking for Eggs Benedict, then tell them you want it on toast, not an English muffin, leave off the Canadian bacon and Hollandaise sauce.

The Americans don't seem to be all that food wise do they when it comes to breakfast basics to judge from all your comments.....I can't believe they've never discovered how to poach an egg. What was foul mouthed Ramsey doing all the time he was over there?

A poached egg (making sure it isn't overdone!) is great on top of some buttered smoked haddock or on a slice of really fresh from the bakery hot well buttered granary bread or similar multigrain or plain old wholemeal toast, also buttered and lightly smeared with a little marmite beforehand.

This is what the Americans need to do in order to do something as mundane as poaching the humble egg.....

I really hope you are a troll. The thought of anybody being as breathtakingly unlikeable as you in reality makes me sad.

We don't need Gordon, Nigella, et al to tell us to poach an effin' egg, thank you very much.

Do you live in some sort of Twilight Zone? Poached eggs are a very common breakfast food in the US, I always order them when I am out because I always make a huge mess when trying to do them myself at home.

You probably only get weird looks because you ordered something not on the menu, and it's a pain for them to work out how much to charge. Tip them well when they make an attempt, next time they'll try harder when you are being awkward.
