Be fair, they must travel with their parents, however sedation on long flights should be a must.

Never had an issue with kids on planes. Rude, smelly, selfish, noisy adults on the other hand....

Well cargo seems to be the most under utilized part of the plane...

Yeah, I was going to say the same

I was shitting myself that my daughter would be a complete arsehole on her first flight, which was a transatlantic one to boot, but was pleasantly surprised as she slept for most of it and seemed to enjoy it when she was awake.

I suppose there's always Benadryl, anyway.

I just bought a new floor lamp and the whatsit covers 2 plug holes if I put it in the top do-dad, but if I put it in the bottom it makes no difference, the square Alexa plug still won't fit and the sofa recliner plug is a jaunty 45° angle so no go there either. I have 4 bloody sockets within easy reach and can only use 2 regardless of how I plug my stuff in :frown:

Buy a bunch of these:
https://www.monoprice.com/product?c_...seq=1&format=2

They are 'mini extension cords' - plug one end in the wall outlet, and now you have a hanging receptacle for whatever device you want to plug in. Great for adapting 'power bricks' and any non-standard shaped 15 amp plug.

I actually found a bunch of 6" length versions, which are even better, but I couldn't find them this time on Monoprice. I have a box of 10 of them sitting there ready to be deployed ... I've used maybe 20 of them at various times in various locations (I use them at my client sites a lot).

F**ing mountain bikers ... :) ... I had to go to the hospital due to a mountain biker coming behind me on a steep trail in Scottsdale. He was persistent in trying to pass me, so I reluctantly stopped and stepped onto the side of the trail. The gravel on the side was loose (unlike the tightly packed gravel on the main trail), and I slipped; reached out; landed hand-first on a Saguaro Cactus. They pulled at least 50 'needles' out of my hand. I know bikers are supposed to yield to hikers, but they often assume you will get out of their way.

You should enroll into Ol'LivingInNYC's course on Social disconnection & tricking people into thinking you're normal; when you're really just a weirdo.
It's online only. Major credit cards accepted. Also cash.

I probably should also clarify, the latter part is mainly my personal experience and not an insult/reflection of users on this forum.

This was covered in Ann Tyler's 'The Accidental Tourist' years ago ... first thing you do when you get on a plane is bury your head in a book, even though you aren't reading it! (before portable stereos were quite so mainstream).

I would have totally agreed with you on this until I had kids. We do try to keep the volume down, but screens do help with keeping kids under control. Would you rather them running around , screaming?

But why not use headphones/earbuds? If we are talking McDonalds, that's one thing but if I go to a decent restaurant for a meal and some conversation, I don't want to hear the endless sounds of aliens being zapped. At least music can be tuned out, but those game sounds are very distracting.

Our daughter rarely brings her DS (sorry, 3DS, she always corrects me ...) inside a restaurant, but the rule is that she either uses headphones or she keeps the volume down. Of course, the 'fanciest' place we go to is Chili's, and I doubt the sound of Mario collecting coins will bother anyone in there anyway

She's usually happy if she has something to draw on/with actually. Drawing is wonderfully quiet.

But does her book teach you to trick randoms, cabin crew and/or border agents to thinking you're a stable, well balanced person? :sneaky:

Impossible, too many meme's and simpson's episodes have covered pretty much all subject matter now!
