It's about the chocolate they leave on your pillow. Or it could be the tip.

A front loader would get that out.

It just means you're getting a higher resolution of a crap photo that you could have taken on a point and shoot, you dill hole.

Ah but my wife likes the fact the DSLR doesn't need to wait 5 seconds between each shot for focusing, flash charging etc.

The dill hole is happy taking several crap photos a second on auto that fill up my hard drive in a matter of weeks.

How about a Bobs DSLR camera beginners tips thread?

We shall create a religion centered on Laundry practices. It will be the Top Loader traditionalits vs. the Front Loader upstarts. :boxing:

Modern cameras.

Years ago, we had a manual SLR camera, Pentax K1000, we had it about thirty years and we took brilliant pictures with it though I say it myself.

Then we gradually moved to point and click digital cameras and the K1000 stopped working properly, probably just needed a cleaning or something, anyway we stopped using it and now it is seized up or otherwise defunct..

Bloody camera we have now, doesn't even have a viewfinder, just a screen on the back. If the weather is even moderately bright and sunny, I can't see anything on this screen. It might as well be completely blank. Plus, all I can use the camera for is totally automatic pictures because supposedly the thing has a menu system but I can't make head or tail of it.. I took 199 pictures on my trip to England recently, most of them were in the OK to mediocre range but they were all based on total guesswork.

Overly complicated and automated appliances.

I prefer simple, straightforward and ability to manually pick all options.

Get a Pentax K5, then. It's a modern digital slr but it works the same in principle as the K1000 with the added bonus that it takes all the same lenses as well.

I've got one of its older relatives myself and I'm using lenses from the 80s with great success.

Excellent thanks for the tip, I'll look at the Pentax K5. We do have quite a few nice lenses from the K1000. I'd like to get back to taking proper pictures.
