That will get a lot of attention in Indiana.

Good looking car and the 4WD will come in handy in Pennsylvania winters.

Thanks, yes, that extra control could be very useful. I'm looking forward to having some fun with it.

There was a Mini Cooper Zip Car close to my apt in the East village… I would use any excuse to take it out for an hour or 2, pick up a visitor from Pen Station or juts bomb around Manhattan, it was like real life Mario Kart, the new German version is so much bigger and than the British one my friend had. Best place to take any car in the snow is an empty wide open car park with 3-4 inches of now on the ground before they plow…

I had a friend in the 60's with a Mini. One day I went to his place and he'd put a mattress on the driveway and rolled his car onto it's side on the mattress so he could paint undercoating on the bottom.

That car looks very sad.

While I was "lying low", I got myself some new wheels too. As per Lizzy they weren't new new, but new to me. I had been researching options for several years, and finally settled on this, a 2018 X5 xDrive50i with exceptionally low mileage - just over 17,000 when I got it. .... And it had not only a clean CarFax, but also got a totally clean bill of heath from a local non-franchise BMW specialist who I asked to look over it thoroughly for me - everything is 100% in working order. I have put about 3,000 miles on it, and it is still working perfectly.

Of course it is, it's a BMW.

Of course when it breaks, you'll need a 2nd mortgage to fix it

I did some buying and selling last year.

Sold a 2006 Honda Pilot and got a 2021 Honda Passport.

I also sold my 2014 Corvette with the expectation I would get a new C8 however it didn't work out that way :-(. I'm now contemplating sticking with the Passport and just replacing my wife's GTI, maybe for an Audi RS3 or BWM M2 comp when (or if) they become available later this year.

Me on the Tail of the Dragon a couple of years back

Yes, and no.

Knowing that there was a significant risk that I was buying a money pit, for the first time ever in my life, for any machine or appliance, and at the risk of sounding like Doug DeMuro, I paid for an add-on warranty. In this case for about 3% of the purchase price I got a 5-year, 60,000 mile, bumper to bumper warranty,

Well , my BMW 3 Series is now over 23 years old and approaching 300k miles. Yes, repairs (well, parts especially) are very expensive but the car is remarkably reliable still and of course depreciation has been essentially non-existent for a decade or more.
