Ah, OK. .... I had to Google "transitions", which appears to mean adaptive lens that change according to the light level, right?

I have never had adaptive sunglasses - when I asked about them some years ago, I was advised that the adaptive layer wouldn't work well with my prescription. My prescription sunglasses are tinted dark grey with a polarizing layer and an anti-scratch finish. So the pair for the X5 will be the same, but without the polarizer.

I was always told they require UV light to work so they're no good for driving as the windshield filters most UV light out.

I was taking little Miss P to school this morning when I saw a DeLorean coming the other way!

I've never seen one in the area before so I don't know where it had come from, or should I don't know when it had come from?

I used to see one around town a while back on my way to and from work but that's going back maybe 10 years. Still cool to see either way though.

There are a few around here, so not uncommon for me to see them. Amazing cars that always make me smile.

Not actually a car, but just got this .

Had to go to Kansas City to collect it and then took a few days driving back (Richmond, VA) - with a few interesting stops on the way.

It's a work in project retirement vehicle... t'wife and I will soon be off to live in a van by the river !

What is special about it that you'd drive nearly half way across the country to get it home?

Ford Transits are in high demand and short supply - local dealers had no interest in selling one to me, so tracked down one near to the plant, got a good deal AND a verified order from them. Ordered it in September last year and I'm actually very lucky to have received it already.

Admittedly we blew any savings on flying out and taking our time driving back (Buffalo Trace sells some good stuff) but it was a great "fly drive" vacation !

Not sure why I haven't posted or really looked at this thread before as I love cars. Currently have a Camaro SS and before I moved over to the USA I had a couple of TVRs.

Very nice! The TVR, not the Camaro - my Yank toy is a Mustang, a 2002 GT. And a TVR is at the top of my "this is a really stupid idea to import one, but I'm going to do it anyway" list, hopefully in the next 5-10 years.

I quite like the Camaro, actually. I like the TVR as well, of course.

Those 360 degree virtual images of the car surroundings always blow me away! It was an option on my recent car but I didn't go for it. I'm familiar with the processing that goes on behind it, but it still looks magic to me.

So do you plan to kit it out yourself, with kitchen stuff, beds, etc? Is all that stuff easy to source as an individual consumer? I would have thought that would be somewhat exclusive to the companies that do the van conversions. But I guess the internet has made everything available. With the popularity of 'camper vans' since the pandemic, I can imagine even getting the basic parts could be a challenge. What do you plan to install - beds, kitchen ... toilet? shower?
