Is this Season 2 of the Boiler and Octang show, or season 3?

Nobody (and I'm talking about the wider world here, because you may forget that there are about 7.2 billion people who don't live in America), gives a flying **** about your guns.

Re: Florida shooting
Then why are you wasting your time on stupid bullshit like your pathetic gun collection, instead of something that's actually important and will actually benefit society?

That's pretty obviously fake. Can't expect critical thinking from the lunatic fringe though, so I guess we can expect more bullshit trolling from our bargain basement Alex Jones.

Yes, and yes.
My son walked in his school's protest yesterday, but mostly due to a girl who wanted him to go with her
His point was "what on earth is the point of a "protest" that is sanctioned by the school, where the school security guards help us cross the street safely and escort us to the stands in the football field, and where we aren't even marked "absent" for walking out of school? That isn't civil disobedience at all and it won't change anything." Bright lad. This country can allow all sorts of demos to happen and nothing changes at all.

What he said was right, but I don't think it'll change anything anyway. I mean, I really don't care about the fact that people can own guns, beyond my half-arsed button pushing attempts, but I still think way too much importance is placed on them, especially when there is a massive overlap in the Venn Diagram between hardcore 2A mentalists and people who don't think climate change is real

They had a walkout at our high school as well, my wife works there and she said it went off without incident.

Re: Florida shooting
That's what I mean about the culture thing here - the complete fixation on being armed with guns. They have practical uses in terms of getting food, but the things have been fetishized here in a way I have never, ever encountered anywhere else or anything even close. And it has not gone well.
IDGAF about hunters, don't get me wrong, they play an important role in natural habitat conservation and population control for animals like deer, but let's not pretend that it somehow makes guns either important or necessary.

It's a practical use, but of diminished importance itself because of agriculture. But unless you're one of those Alaskans that the Discovery Channel likes to spam us with fifteen times a day, it falls under the category of 'leisure', rather than 'I absolutely need this or I'll die of starvation'.
