No. They were his and the father was not supposed to give them to him

I didn't think it was odd, considering this is the 'Florida shooting' thread (which is why I posted about the schoolkid, as he is from Florida) and not the 'US shoot em dead' thread.

The reason the authorities gave the guns to dad were thanks to a quaint little law in the perps State, Illinois, that allows a person who has had their gun ownership rights withdrawn to nominate someone else to hav them rather than have the State destroy/sell them.
