Agreed but some in this thread only bash the GOP. Those blinkered people I cannot take seriously.

Unfortunately, the Grand Old Party is rapidly becoming the Stupid Trump Party -- and I am completely serious about how terrifying I find that.

The GOP have done a pretty good job messing themselves up in the last 30 years, nothing anyone in our insignificant corner of the internet says will make a lick of difference.

It's not the party of Eisenhower anymore.

I agree. To be fair...what has Clinton done to the DNC?

What's interesting is that there are a large number of prominent Republicans who agree with you.

What's interesting is what those venerable folks are doing about it.

Even the GOP doesn't claim Donald Trump. The RNC has very tepidly endorsed him but, even this weekend, Paul Ryan was disavowing Trump's most recent remarks. Donald Trump is neither a Republican nor a conservative. If they don't even want to admit they know him, why should his opponents take him seriously?

As far as the DNC goes, the party is united and Bernie Sanders got treated better than any losing candidate ever has been. There's a stark contrast when compared to the dung-flinging-monkey-prom that was the Republican convention.

That is your opinion, theirs may differ. In the case of Trump, that's not actually the case.

You said "to be fair" ... I thought you wanted a legitimate comparison. You asked a question but don't seem interested in the answer.

You are correct. I'm on a rant because I am so p*ssed off with both nominees.

Does anyone know what would happen if Trump suddenly pulled out of the election?

If Trump were to quit or "accidentally" fell down a lift shaft, the GOP would get to pick another candidate. I'm not sure what the specific process is for picking one, or even if there is one.

Unfortunately Cruz came the closest.

It's interesting that all these prominent Republicans are calling out Trump for the horrible things he is saying about the Khan family. However, none of them have withdrawn their endorsements.
