I've always thought that fresh water could be piped down from Alaska by pipes running beneath the ocean. If they can pipe millions of barrels of oil across hundreds of miles of desert to ports and refineries why wouldn't the same work for water? There would be enough water to supply and irrigate southern California and Nevada. Maybe the idea has already been thought of but environmental problems perhaps got in the way.

Aside from water Nevada and Arizona rely very much on California to keep their tourist industries going. Imagine Vegas after two months without a single Californian ?

His responses and behavior towards the Khans sound to me like a sub conscious wish for self destruction. It's hard to imagine anyone who could be the complete arsehole he is towards a mother and father who lost a son serving his country.

I see some people are worried about Trump being elected, but I'm not worried at all. Firstly, he's not going to be elected, he says far too many things that would normally bring down a politician quickly, it's just taking longer in his case but it will bring him down. Secondly, even supposing he's elected, all that I think will happen is that instead of doing business deals with people, he'll be doing political deals and all the inappropriate things he's said will go out of the window and he'll probably be not much better or worse than other presidents. But he's not going to be elected- what's remarkable about this election is that if only Sanders had been the nominee, we would have had a socialist president, which would have been quite a revolution, and what worries me is that we may never have the same prospect again.

I have been thinking that it is quite possible that he actually wants to lose and never really imagined getting this far just trying to hype his name. He may be coming to the realization that he is over his head not to mention that eventually it will come out much money he owes to some Russian oligarch in Putins circle of friends...and the shit will hit the fan.

All indications is that Trump will lose by a landslide in the electoral votes in my opinion, so all the dire predictions of a Trump presidency don't worry me.

It does appear his campaign is finally imploding.

However, he's not exactly the mentally stable type who could accept defeat with grace and humility.

What happens, for example, should his team and the republican party abandon him? If he quits or engages in even more rage, or say, does something really insane such as hiring hitmen to snuff his enemies? Or anything which would remove him as a candidate...

Would the GOP prop up another candidate at this late hour? Would the general election even take place? Could Clinton become the only president that won an election without a vote?

Well, there'd still be a vote because there are other candidates for president. I suppose it will be interesting to see whether "third party" candidates will garner many more votes in this election than in a normal election. (Whether or not Trump is still up and running come Election Day.)

Trump asked three times in an hour briefing, 'Why can't we use nuclear weapons?'" Scarborough said on Wednesday's episode of Morning Joe, as a panel discussed concerns about how Trump might handle national security. At one point, Scarborough said, Trump even asked, "'If we have them, why can't we use them?'"

How times change ehh

Obama 2008 Campaign Ad: "Hillary Clinton. She’ll say anything, and change nothing. "

Obama 2008 Campaign Ad: "Hillary Clinton. She’ll say anything, and change nothing. "

Yet Clinton cynically told corporate executives at a 2011 State Department roundtable on investment opportunities in Iraq, “It’s time for the United States to start thinking of Iraq as a business opportunity.”

I agree with what many of the people on this thread have said...Trump is looking for a way out.

Possibly. I'm also getting the feeling that the powers that be (including the U.S. government, the Republican Party, the military etc.) will not permit this election to go ahead with Trump in place. By hook or by crook, Trump will be derailed before Election Day.

No more leisurely weekends at Mar-a-Lago, having to watch what he says at all times, can't insult female world leaders with impunity, has to put his money where his mouth is (as it were!) -- that must sound like living hell to him!!!
