Ah - thanks everybody - I have missed the banter & bollox...

Off to steal a woman and a job - I'd forgotten the American Dream...!!!
Not sure The Missus would approve though... Perhaps she can steal the job, and I'll steal the woman...?

Michelle Bachman could use a good "stealing".

One for the 'Desperate to Immigrate' thread, perhaps? Emphasis on the 'desperate'.

Samantha Bee on the Nevada caucus issue. Quite good actually.
I actually think John Oliver did a much better job. The overriding point being that yes the system is broken and dismissing Sanders and his supporters' concerns as the whining of a loser doesn't solve the problem. It will just keep happening.

How about the novel idea of actually doing something to fix the problem.

Why is it that voters don't think Hillary Clinton is honest and trustworthy? I can't think...

Clearly you missed the wink at the end of that comment...it was a joke.

As for the system...yes it is screwed up...but the rules were in place long before Sanders started his run...and whining about them when you are trailing in the popular vote by 3 million votes is non productive.

I didn't miss the wink, but using an emoticon doesn't give you free reign to say what you like. It reminds me of the no offence character from the Fast Show.

It's not non productive if it gets them change the fcking system for next time.

Changing the system for the next time should be handled when the primaries are over. Arousing vile anger in your base accomplishes little more than creating an unhealthy and vile atmosphere in my opinion.

Except no-one will give a shit once the primaries are over. Now is the time to be talking about it.

Also, anything that give less attention to the ultimate gobshite that is Trump is a good thing, IMO.

On another note..the Donald has announced he will not be self funding the general election and has set up a committee to raise 1 billion dollars...headed by a former Wall Street exec. So much for his claim that he will not be owing anyone any favors.

Clinton is preparing for the General by going after Trump. Sanders is preparing by tearing the Democratic Party apart. Sorry, but that is a very poor strategy.

Actually, Sanders is being a lot smarter than you give him credit for, and to say he is tearing the Democratic party apart is absurd.

Think about it, the Democrats need Sanders' voters to vote blue in November. But a lot of Sanders' voters aren't the typical Democrat supporters, they're young and/or independents. They have no loyalty to the party and they think the establishment and politics is corrupt. Do you really think that Sanders dropped out and told them all to vote for Hillary in November they'd do it just because Bernie said so? Hell no, they'd either stay at home or worse still vote Trump.

So what does Sanders do instead? Continues to rail against the establishment, extracts some concessions from the DNC, pushes the party a bit further to the left, maybe sees DWS out of a job.

So we get to the convention and the numbers are obviously still against Sanders, he then gives a speech saying we tried really hard and managed to get x, y and z from the DNC and we have to keep this fight going. But we can't keep the fight going if Donald Trump is the next President, so you all have to vote for Clinton and once Hillary is President we'll continue to push to get to where we need to be.

If it's done right then you'll get the votes you need in November and some loyal Democrat voters for the next couple of decades.
