Trump gleefully declares he will bomb the middle east into the dark ages, and will specifically target civilians. “I would knock the hell out of ISIS… [and] when you get these terrorists, you have to take out their families ... †. So while other western leaders may grudgingly accept civilian deaths as an unfortunate by-product of necessary actions, Trump would make it a centerpiece of his strategy.

Thing is, if you are going to go full Godwin and compare candidates to Hitler and Himmler et al there is only one candidate that matches.

To be fair, he said 'partly to blame'. Hilary Clinton was Foreign Secretary, was she not? It wouldn't be a stretch to say American Foreign policy has be responsible for a lot of today's conflicts. Ex Foreign Secretary Henry Kissinger is certainly a much universally reviled character.
