I think that Syria and Iraq were nations created by the French and British. At the time not much thought seems to have been given to lumping together Muslims of different tribes and sects.

Nasser would have been hard to make friends with. He was an ardent Arab nationalist, anti-British and had ties to the pro Nazi Arab faction in Palestine during WW2

It sounds quite visceral.

Syria and Iraq, yes, but also Lebanon, Israel, Jordan, Gulf States, and Saudi Arabia were western creations in the 1917 to 1948 period..

Four reasons why Bernie Sanders will not get the Democrat Party nomination

He's a self confessed Socialist. Not a wise word to use in American politics

His ideas are too radical and sound unworkable

He doesn't identify with black and Hispanic voters. To this voting block he's an old white guy who has come out of nowhere. He comes from a State (Vermont) where there are very few minorities

He just looks too old. Ronald Reagan was old when he became President but at least he looked much better preserved that Bernie Sanders does

It's interesting, the Democrats hope Trump is the nominee and the Republicans are praying that Bernie somehow steals the nomination from Monica's boyfriend's wife.

It would be very interesting to watch Hamtramck, Michigan's denizens voting for a Jewish Socialist from Brooklyn with family on his father's side who perished in the Holocaust. But they'll do it since being a Democrat trumps absolutely every other influence in your life, even being an adherent of the Religion of Piece.

2/10. Bonus point for "Religion of Piece"...

Typifying the level of political discourse in this country. Pathetic.

I listened to the debate whilst I painted the bathroom.

In contrast to the Republican event midweek this debate actually sounded like a respectful and dignified discussion. Although there was some disagreement there was none of the embarrassing bickering the likes we saw between Bush and Trump.

I've gained a lot of respect for Bernie, it seems he's dedicated his life to fighting for worthy causes that he believes in passionately. I still don't feel that he has put much thought into international relations, and against a good republican debater he could be slaughtered.

Hillary comes across as being very cool, and very intelligent. She performs consistently well under pressure. From what I've seen of the GOP debates I don't there are any candidates on that side who would come out on top in a debate. Rubio I think might be strongest, but if you put him on a platform with her he'd look very green and very inexperienced.

Apart from reason #2 that's about right.

I would replace 2 with that he has not sold himself to the Money men and simply does not have access to the funds required to become president.

Okay, let me just get this out of my system....

What the hell is going on with Martin O'Malley's accent? Where does he think he's from? He gets more affected the longer this thing goes on. He reminds me of Peggy Nooooonnnnan with that fake gentility which is just subterfuge to keep everybody from figuring out that you actually have no class.

It was the difference between watching adults trying to have a reasonable discussion or witnessing a bunch of spoiled little shits having a playground fight. The Republican Party has become Lord of the Flies.
