2016 Election

I'm mortified at the tone. I just watched a few minutes of a Donald Trump rally. He is LITERALLY ranting and raving. I can't believe these images are going out to the world. Does the world think this is the actual presidential election? Or do they understand that this is just the Republican clown show --- it comes around every 4 years before the actual election.

With Rubio and Cruz damaging each other, it's beginning to dawn on me that Trump might run the table in the early primaries and have the momentum to get the nomination.
At this point the polls indicate that Hillary beats Trump, however, a lot can happen to change that. If he should become President, I hope he selects a world-class cabinet because he will need one. I can't believe I'm even seriously thinking about a Trump presidency. The thought is very sobering. But then again, so is a Hillary presidency. How did we ever arrive at this point?

I discount Trump, I simply do not see how he could win. Mathematics is against him.
Hillary is much more scary as she could win.

I'm not one for the conspiracy theories, but the timing of this is awfully convenient after Sanders picked up two major endorsements yesterday.

In this case, the Republicans are doing everything to convince Americans that they are imminently susceptible to a horrific terrorist attack at any moment. And those goddam Democrats are to blame for it. After all, they're doing NOTHING. Right?
It's still a while to go, so like in the UK elections, people may eventually discover that the US is still statistically amongst the least of those who endure horrific "terrorist attacks", and that there's a LOT going on to fight ISIS, to put an end to the Syrian civil war, and to protect borders, etc. And it appears there is some tangible progress being made on that front - without putting 100 thousand "boots on the ground" and enduring the stream of returning body bags. We shall see...
It's just not what the republicans want to hear, and so they're screaming as loud as they can. "Bomb the shit out them" and "invade and conquer". None of this wimp-arsed "diplomacy" crap.
Funny, had any politician said the same things 8 years ago, it would have been politically suicidal. How things change.

Speaking of which, a disturbing number of people are in favour of bombing a fictional country.
