How many more debates are there? I was hoping we could get to a point where Trump plummets in the polls and the organisers are left with the option of dropping him or bending the rules so he doesn't have a fit.

Since they're narrowing down to eight, it would be nice to see more substantial answers and traditional debating, rather than a few rehearsed soundbites. I hope they do fewer questions and get more out of the candidates.

He is their money earner, all that matters.

That must have made a big dent in the floor.

I'm surprised that Lindsey Graham didn't even make the kid's debate this time.

The best is the story about trying to hit his mother in the head with a hammer, where he either a) lied about trying to hit his mother in the head with a hammer, or b) actually tried to hit his mother in the head with a hammer. Granted, if it's b) then he may get some respect from Putin.

His "narrative" is that he turned around a violent youth through faith. It's now looking as though he might have "enhanced" the first part of that:

Ben Carson on questions about his past: 'Bunch of lies' - CNNPolitics.com

What world are we in where a candidate is desperate for us to believe he once stabbed a guy and hit his own mother with a hammer? It's a very poor narrative.

Probably not to the God Squad though: "faith conquers all".

I guess we'll have to wait for the Congressional investigation to find out what really happened with the hammer. Maybe there is something about it in Hillary Clinton's emails.

He's not all violent though, remember when he was held up at gunpoint at a restaurant and just pointed the gunman to the cashier instead.

It appears that a lot of damage has been done to Carson's bid - self-inflicted. His major attraction was that of being truthful and trustworthy. It would be hard for the FBN moderators not to bring up this issue. Expect his poll numbers to start receding.

I thought it was only the "biased librul media" that asked gotcha questions?
