Ryanair wont be cheapest airline soon as of 1st of may u will have to pay a fiver for on line check in and £20.00 per person check in at airport and after october only online check in so get your flights booked up now !!!

Ryanair to end airport check-in

Ryanair says it will remove all its airport check-in desks from 1 October this year, requiring all passengers to check-in online . The airline will extend its web check-in service from 19 March to passengers travelling with checked baggage and reduced mobility customers . Customers who check-in with only carry-on baggage will not be charged , but those with baggage to be checked in will pay a €5 fee . However, from 1 May all passengers checking in online will be charged a €5 fee, except for promotional fares . Passengers continuing to use check-in desks will be charged €10 per person from 19 March, and then €20 per person from 1 May, as check-in desks are phased out over the summer . From 1 October , passengers who have checked in bags will use the airport ‘bag-drop’ desks . I live between birminghama and Luton. I'll do what i've always done.

Look at skyscanner.com and book the cheapest day and the cheapest flight (as long as it is scheduled to arrive before midnight.)

Oh I also apply for the airline credit cards and use their intial free offers. (Not Ryanair's though because you only get the "flights" free. Since on the last 10 occasions my flights have cost an average of £5 each and taxes and charges £30 each its not worth the hassle.

The easyjet card is a good one though. £40 off you flights for spending an initial £250 15% return in a month is pretty hard to beat. Then getting the equivalent of a 1% cashback on all your spend is good.

BMIbaby and BMI are also good cards with a good free initial flight (including taxes)

Airmiles Lloyds duo card gets you 2 free tickets to Paris for spending a trifle.

Flybe also has a good free flights offer.

Thats 4 weekend breaks sorted, with just the price of the hotel to find.

I wrote what I read in business section of Metro newspaper yesterday morning.We shall have to wait and see but as Mr O Leary says they will keep looking for ways to charge for more things to reduce flight prices i.e Toilet charges and now online check in and exorbitant baggage charges (who would go on a 2 week holiday without luggage ,10 kilos hand luggage is nothing for anyone with a child ) They charge an arm and a leg for credit card transactions ,this is obviously their perogative but they surely wont be able to boast cheapest airline if they keep adding on these charges .

Look. If charges are universal they HAVE to be included in the headline price. This is why uncle mick allows electron card holders to not pay a credit or debit card fee. If he didn't the charge would have to be included in the headline price.

I would think it highly unlikely they would charge for online check in if the only way you could check in was online. The simple reason is that the charge would have to be included in the headline fare price.

You can only charge optional extras for things which are extra, such as speedy boarding, hold luggage, physical check in, payment by credit card etc.

Charge for online check in? No

Charge for toilet? Probably.

I've seen an ad for personal portable toileting solutions in Saga. Don't sit next to me if they introduce a bog charge
