YOU are the only one making that claim. And we all know what that means. Besides, what is your goddam problem with Gibraltar? Don't you have other things to worry about? Things must be pretty good, despite all your whinging.

The old Fogeys are getting them free, and the cook could/may have been persuaded to part with a few kilos. The regulars are probably getting them, nudge nudge, wink wink. When I was in Naples for six months I used to get the illegal stuff offered to me, like Datteri di mare etc. in the places I frequented 2 or 3 times a week. They were expensive, they blow up the reefs to get them and there were heavy penalties if caught.

Doctor Reid has highlighted that the tax-payer should pay up to ten thousand pounds for each RAF jet landing on the Rock because of the existing ban from Spanish air space. She believes this shows EU membership does not help Gibraltar as it has no impact on Spain’s behaviour. In fact, she adds, that if Britain left the constriction of the EU, it would be far better placed to stand up for the Rock and its interests.

Russian submarine surfaces in Commons debate on Gibraltar
Britain’s Minister for Europe, David Lidington, has described Spain’s hospitality towards Russian warships in Ceuta as “extraordinary†at a time of heightened tensions between NATO and Russia.
“It is extraordinary that this kind of hospitality should be shown at a time when Russia is not only engaged in a campaign of aggression and destabilisation in Ukraine but has acted in a way which threatens the security of a number of our EU and NATO allies, in particular the Baltic States,†Mr Lidington said.
Tory MP, Robert Neill said that while the UK and Spain had a good relationship, this was clouded by “the political obsession†of some members of the current Spanish government, and the “particular personal agenda†of its Foreign Minister, José Manuel GarcÃa-Margallo.
“But there’s also been a quite damaging, happily unjustified and demonstrably unjustified campaign of economic slander against Gibraltar by Spain and its allies,†he added.
Mr Neill said this includes “highly erroneous†claims that Gibraltar is a tax haven, adding that nothing could be further from the truth as Gibraltar’s financial regulatory bodies “mirror British standardsâ€.

I believe the EU has agreed on an embargo on Russia.
So much for EU cooperation:-
MOSCOW, Wednesday: A group of warships of Russia’s Black Sea Fleet (BSF) led by the Moskva missile cruiser has passed the Strait of Gibraltar and cast anchor at the Spanish port of Ceuta, ( BSF spokesman Captain 1st Rank Vyacheslav Trukhachev said today.
"The group of the Black Sea Fleet’s warships comprising the Moskva missile cruiser, the Pytlivy escort ship, the Ivan Bubnov large sea tanker and the Shakhtyor rescue tug has passed the Strait of Gibraltar and arrived at the anchorage point in the area of the Spanish port of Ceuta," Trukhachev said. After the Ivan Bubnov tanker’s call at Ceuta, it is planned to replenish the ships’ stock of water, fuel and food.

Rajoy is a snake in the grass.
Unfortunately it looks like he'll still be around after the next election, albeit in a weakened form.
Hard to believe after all that has gone before, though they do say a country gets the govt it deserves.

A much stronger Royal Navy presence in “the British sovereign waters around Gibraltar is now paramountâ€, Andrew Rosindell Conservative MP and Member of the All Party British Gibraltar Group in the UK Parliament, told the House of Commons on Friday.
During the Second Reading of the Bill on Defence Expenditure, Mr Rosindell, emphasised more resources were needed to counter the illegal and aggressive incursions by Spanish vessels which shamefully supported and excused†by the Spanish Government.

“Thanks to your pragmatism you have known how to tackle problems firmly and with imagination, and I’m thinking of your brilliant defence of Spain’s territorial integrity,†Sr Rajoy wrote of his Foreign Minister.
“Your actions on the Gibraltar issue merit special recognition and you know that this is a question to which I am particularly attuned.â€
