Just received a response from my spanish Solicitor today - they have now received a response from the administrators to go ahead with the plot completion - so getting closer....about time...

I am sure you all ready know the Catastral value comes into play if & when you get involved with the N.R. Wealth Tax
Also for CGT and it will be useful to know of any increase in Catastral value.

Low & behold our Service De Gestion has just been taken from our account
Obviously there has been an increase, but not to bad
The increases were 219,75 up from 215,45 euros & 42,40 from 41,30 euros
I don't know how these compare with Costa Esuri charges being as we are situated in Isla Canela Marina
I would have thought the basic CE charges would be less being as @ this moment in time we benefit from more of the council services provided

Hi Chris,

What is "Service De Gestion" and what are the two figures for specifically.

Is your place detached? Do you pay a community charge as well?

We are not part of a community being an isolated house on what I think is a council road and I thought that we would only pay for refuse collection in addition to our IBI. Of course we will have water, gas, electricity and telephone to pay for to each of the service providers

Regars,

John.

Service De Gestion , are the headings on the previously mentioned blue demands ( IBI Urbana ) & the DD on the bank account also have the same title.
I think the office in Ayamonte has it displayed above the door.
Can't help with the translation, my wife is the one who has picked the language up & she is in IC @ the moment.

We have a 2bed/2bathroom apartment much the same as many others.
The tax demands don't have a proper break down of charges, but I assume they include the services of
Police
Refuse collection
Fire brigade
Street maintainance including the army of council gardeners & road sweepers
Postmen & what ever other public services provided
We pay a monthly community charge of 76 euros per month that includes the maintance of 4 lifts, garden & pool
I don't know how these services & charges compare with C.E. ?

The penalty is something like 50euros.

Just returned from a great week at CE, loved golf 2...what a challenge and don't know how I would have fared without playing partners who knew the right lines to take. All it needs is better maintenance to bring tees and bunkers up to scratch.

Anyway re council tax. I hadn't received a bill but took a copy of my NIE to the little office off Laguna Square, gave them my name and hey presto they presented me with the bill (two in fact). Also provided them with my bank (not one of those listed) details, which allows them to process a direct debit next year.
I took the bills to Banca Rural and paid cash for this year. I did talk to one guy who hadn't received a bill last year but was still charged a penalty (about €80)..... for not paying a bill he hadn't received. I thought this was Spain, not Ireland!!!

Thanks Chris I have dug out my blue paperwork and it does indeed say "Service De Gestion" but I have only one fee to pay. That must be because it is a plot and there is no occupation at this stage.

We have poof that the Fire Brigade do attend since the recent van fire, I have seen both local police and GC patrol at CE and the rubbish is collected. Not sure who does the grass verge cutting and street clensing but it does happen.
