COSTA ESURI - AYAMONTE
#3633
Hi This has nothing to do with Costa Esuri... but just a bit of hard earned experience.. that has something to do with the PC's we need to get onto the forum.
I bought a new PC a few months ago and this week decided to upgrade the Vista to Vista Ultimate and the old M-S Office to M-S Office Ultimate.
It went really well, and I was pleasantly surprised at how easy the process was and how it all worked seamlessly and easily.....
All was going well .....
Then I had a problem, all because I named my user account Jon's Acount. The apostrophe and maybe the space meant that none of the Office Help would work properly. Now when you have a new product you need the help a lot, and so I got caught.
Well its now several hours later, including calls to the M-S call centre in India and them taking over my PC remotely ...... and creating a new user account and moving all the stuff to the new account .... and redoing everything etc etc its still not over. I have at the moment to move all my email files to the new user....... what a DRAG!!!:curse:
It worked fine with the Vista home edition.... but its probably the new Office that has the problem
So if you buy a new Vista PC, whatever version you have that may work now, dont create any user accounts with spaces, punctuation... in fact just use letters. If I'd called my account 'Jon' with no punctuation I would be delighted with M-soft.
Im sure that for years to come I will find things that dont work, because there are links to the old user account. And I suspect that I will be switching accounts rather that just using those pieces of software.
All because of an apostrophe!!! One little character caused hours or work... and maybe for ages to come more problems. I now have 2 user accounts on my PC for me as well.....
PC's are FANTASTIC until they go down...
I need a

And thankfully I have a spill proof keyboard, when I shake with anger!!
Just a bit of advice.....
Cheers
Jon

Hola,
Now, Secret Agent Betris, your mission, should you choose to accept, is to visit this heladeria in Cartaya, select the cerveza cruzcampo* flavour ice cream, eat it, and report back to mission control asap. No stopovers.
This message will self destruct in 10 seconds...
(*It's your lucky day! I might have asked you to select the Chorizo flavour!
)
Regards,
Carol (00?)

Well thank goodness you Esurians are all beginning to get sorted out at last!!!!
I have been following the electricty saga for several months and you have my sympathies. Makes me glad I am on PV cells and a genset. Totally independant of the grid!
Anyway not the reason for posting. It occurs that with those of you who are disenchanted with life out here there may just be a small car (spanish plates) you may wish to get rid of.
If you have one, or know of one, I am being pressured by the war department to get her something little. Corsa, Clio, Smart, Uno, dos tres.....anything like this would do. Preferably diesel, must have aircon, not too pricey and with up to date paperwork.
On the subject of the river beach in Alcoutim, the sand is traansported there each year after it gets washed away by winter storms, the water is clean...ish. is fresh water and has a blue flag. We were there with the grandchildren the other day aand seemed to have survived even swimming underwater. It makes a great change from the pool and salt water of the sea.
Looking forward to hearing from you.

Hope someone enjoyed the Philippa Gregories (
historical) and "Duende"?Finally, please does anyone have any information which they could PM me regarding the recent community meetings at Marina Esuri? Thanks.
Carol
