There's a supposedly brilliant restaurant in Castro Marim, I say supposedly as we haven't got round to trying it yet. Sorry, the name escapes me for now but it's in Castro & you turn off near where the pigeon coops are, maybe Betris or Fortaleza know it or can tell me if it's as good as I've heard. We stopped outside last visit in the pouring rain & were salivating at the menu which was extremely varied & looked very 'up market'. They had set menus from around 40 to 50 or 60 euros a head or of course just have a main course & keep the cost down

I can get a set menu of the day meal for four for that price and you get so much good food and wine you have to be carried home.

No way, I was a war babe and brought up on ration stamp foods, maybe that is why I would never even think about paying that much for a meal when I could feed my family for a week for the same. ;-)

I think its great to know of somewhere good for special meals out. Just the drive home afterwards!!! I have been for coffee and it is fabulous and a great location. Was it bussy? I don't like a quiet place!!! especially if I have paid that kind of money. There needs to be some kind of buzz.

Couldn't comment on how busy it gets as we haven't been & when we looked at the menu outside it was closed, didn't look like anything special from the outside but that's par for the course but it was recommended to us by a local who said it gets booked up. I think it's this one called Faz Gostos http://www.eastalgarve.com/pt/equipa...alhe.asp?id=45

For €40 a head, I'd insist on being carried home after.
