In the Express today there was a feature on a small Hotel at Estoi in Portugal. It looks very specilal from the article and its web page. www.montedocasal.pt The cuisine is gourmet, as are the prices. Nice to know of these places for 'special occasions' They serve dinner and lunch to non residents.
any veiws on this any one

Just a quickie....some good BMI flights out, I have booked for 08/09/09 for a week.. £124 for two of us. East Mids to Faro. There are cheaper ones too but the days didn't suit us. £6.04 out and the same price return then plus the taxes and charges. No cases included

A few posts ago you mentioned the Spanish Interest rate and the hope it may reduce like the UK one. I have received our mortgage statement and since we started paying in May 06 the figure has increased month by month and, although we had factored in rises, I am surprised at the substantial hike in repayments. That with the Euro rate......arrrghhh ! I think we may have made a bad call and should have had a sterling mortgage, where is that crystal ball when you need it 1
All the best

Yes - I've been checking flight prices for the school holidays next year and the new ryanair flight from East Mids to Faro is coming out cheapest just about every time. Also as Mel said, BMI summer sale now on Birm to Faro also good out of school holiday time.

Yes we will have a look too. I was kind of expecting someone to have tried it. It is a member of a superior group of small boutique hotels of the world and the restaurant is Michelin rated. The owner has spent 20 years perfecting it.
I prefer a fine dining experience once in a while over the disappointing meals I have eaten in Ayamonte! we have given up on Ayamonte and I either cook myself or we go over to Portugal. I don't like to pay for meals out if they are not prepared to a standard I can achieve myself.

London Luton-Faro with easyjey have been released at 07.30 this morning good prices for early May just booked 27th April for two one way with 2 cases £70, checked Ryanair yesterday from EMA and the prices were good but the exta travel to Donnington and higher card charges and higher luggage charges make the Luton flight cheaper.
Unfortunately from our neck of the woods (N Germany) Ryanair is currently the only option. They have now taken over the run to Faro as well as to Sevilla. Germanwings and Easyjet play during the summer, but stop over the winter. Berlinair has become a normal airline because they now send almost all flights via Palma and operate a wheel and spoke transfer system from there. Means the flights are always well booked, and therefore rarely cheap.
