If anyone has information on local gestoria that they recommend and would like to share, can you please PM me with their details.

Can someone repost the details of Liz and Denny I can't find them with a search (came up with Don Campo) but if they are so good would like to contact L & D from UK.

Yes but they are Lawyers so I won't post them on here. Gloria Crespo has a very good reputation and has acted for friens of ours who have a business in Ayamonte

We have used them a few times and have had no real problems.
Like all business in southern Spain and Portugal it doesn't go quite as quickly or in the same way as in northern Europe.
We have no reason to not recommend them.

Thanks for your responses. I completed almost 2 months ago and I have trying to get the Deeds and there seems to be continual delays, with no clear explanation. Given the Fadesa situation, does anyone know if any risk associated with delay in obtaining deeds?

Friendly and efficient when you visit them in person, in my experience, and we got there in the end, even though were only given our deeds (Copia Simple) 15 months after completion. But I have yet to find out how you get them to reply to e-mails, or deal with instructions given by e-mail. Telephone calls better, personal visit best.

There is always a danger in not having the deeds but for a new property and depending on the backlog at the Land Registry 2-3 months is normal.

Copia Simple is not the deeds that is the Escritura. Anyone with good cause can buy a copia simpla at the Land Registry or on-line for about a fiver.

I think you are getting the Copia Simple confused with the Nota Simple.

The Nota Simple comes from the Land Registry, and as you say anyone can get their hands on it for a small amount of money. www.registradores.org is the website where you can download it.

The Copia Simple is an abbreviated version of the deeds (escritura).
