because this forum is currently only running on idle and if you really wanted an arguement instead of the current gentle discussion then I am sure there are a few people around who would oblige.

You don't accept that I may hold a differing view, but you also know that I am not the only one with similar views.
You also don't accept that I will not change my views, no matter how hard you try to make me out to be a racist intolerant.
I have been spat at, spat on, overcharged, called white trash and worse and treated as part of the unwashed and lowest of the low in too many countries across Asia to be bothered about it anymore.
Just always gives me a (wry) laugh when I see how much people have wanted me out of their country but they then suddenly find how good things can be in my country and want some of it for free.

Domino I apologise if I have upset you. You are entitled to your opinions and I can understand that you may dislike the many changes that have occurred in the UK.

My aim has been to dispel inaccuracy which can fuel dislike (just like the people who people who treated you badly in other countries). I think the people who come to the UK are not often the same as those.

I just wish that you and others could see that immigrants are just like any other people good and bad but mostly ordinary. They are bound to have different customs and 'ways' , just as different classes of the indigenous people.

They also have different classes of people -- they are not all identical clones!!!!

I have certainly heatedly argued on the Goa/Forum beach with those who complained about too many Indian tourists on Indian beaches !!!!

I think that many of the fervently religious have tried to enforce their beliefs on others, Many people have an embedded fear of missionaries, although Hindus admire Christianity (if admire is the correct word).

Sausages----- sausages for ever sausages. I eat sausages if I want to!!! what is there to miss?? We don't eat red meat, not because of religion but because I do care about animal welfare. I wish I was completely vegetarian for that reason only. (Also OH is on a low fat diet!! )

But please, why would my husband be disgusted at my posts??? I am really keen to know.

Because this thread and two other threads have been mostly about people from the Indian subcontinent and are full of inaccurate statements and suppositions.
Such as, if I may say so, yourself, being surprised that their are millions of the dreaded Muslims in India, that 99% marriages are arranged etc. etc. etc. and etc.:D

I don't know why these subjects have been raised on an British Expats in Spain Forum, but as they have been why not join in?

I don't mind off topic, it happens but we have been on about India for weeks....there is an India section, a Goa one too. If I think it is boring others must. Supposing I go on the India threads and keep harping on about the UK. How long do you think they would stand it. I may try it to cure the boredom.:cool:

How can references to Indian communities in the UK be about India.
How can discussion aboutn the historical reason for certain foods be about India.
I suppose if you are looking for something to complain about you will find it.

I think you are being a bit unfair Jackytoo (see I do read your posts) anyway for the last two or three pages it hasn't been about India but more so on what a certain poster posted and peoples reactions to said posts

I must admit I haven't even visited this thread for ages, thought I'd pop in and see if it's improved any, but without reading the posts it's obvious it hasn't. The "new additions" to the group write nothing that I want to read, and it seems I'm not alone, the forum is quiet, it's just the same four or five banging the same drum over and over, the same four or five suffering from the need to be writing twenty, thirty posts a day. Whatever the 'beliefs' of the majority of Brits (mostly non-Christian depending upon how you count) it remains a Christian nation by virtue of an established church and bishops in the House of Lords.
