Are you saying that people who go abroad to get married have to get a visa from the UK government? Bit odd, I've needed loads of visas but only ever from the country I'm visiting. Oh well... I have a question (not for you!) but whenever I've read links to DM stories posted by people nearly 100% of the stories mention just how much the house of the subject is worth, why is that? does life in the UK revolve round how much a persons house is worth? can any UK based people explain please |

I was asking because of the mix of cultures that seem to live side by side without issue. It made me think of the time I too lived in London.
The picture seems to change the further north you go ... unfortunately! The only problem has been when EDL people came by coach four times. Once even during a Ghurka 'freedom' march. They didn't succeed in their intention to cause trouble, the Muslim community stayed at home. Several EDL were arrested for being drunk. |

Read the Forum, half of the posts are on that subject!!! but-----if you are of Indian origin you can get a more extensive visa, 5yrs or other cards---too complicated and boring to explain. Daily Mail, I bought one a short while ago, (OH wanted to read the blurb they published on sugar content of foods). I thought, should I put it in a brown paper bag for secrecy?:o |

I admit to feeling guilty sometimes when I read the Guardian online when waking up to Spanish sunshine. So I switch to the Telegraph which makes me feel less of a hypocrite. And the DM removes any remaining guilt. |

You accuse others of not answering your question yet here you go again, answering a question with a question.
May I suggest you look up the word "bigot" and then take a long hard look at yourself! Or is a bgot someone who frequently uses the phrase " Brit hater " as they have nothing constructive to bring to a debate.?? |

It is because they are the most vocal and demanding, although I admit I don't know much about the religion, all I see is that females get the dirty end of the stick in the Muslim faith. There may be some aspects of that religion, where females come out equal to males, but I don't know of any examples of that being reported anywhere. if anyone knows of examples where women are dealt a fair hand under Islamic laws or doctrines, I am sure there will be dozens of posts with examples to prove me wrong. |

Re: British standards ???
Some of you can take the piss out of the Daily Mail all you want but the fact is the breaking news story about the man who killed his wife to hide his sexuality doesn't appear in the Guardian. Beggars the question is the Guardian Really a NEWSpaper or a rag filled with political angst and PC wringing of the hands. Seen better student papers, no wonder the Guardian is leaking money and having to put employees on zero hours:thumbdown:

However if there is a anti-christian or moreso a anti-semtic article the comments rarely get lifted. |

Spot on, both counts. You show little or no tollerance and bring nothing to the debate.
Are you suggesting that to bring something to a debate with you one of the qualifications is to be an ignorant , racially intolerant , UKIPian . bigot. I think you and a few others tick all the boxes. |

Seemed to be criminal cases described, I don't suppose any newspaper can cover all crime. Why did you choose to post your particular story, particularly as it concerned a country you were fed up with the mention of????? (Also they were not Muslims  and your supposition about visas was incorrect!!!) The Guardian had further info. on the McCann case which would seem closer to home for you???? |
