Well from watching big fat gypsy wedding, the Irish travellers seem to enjoy themselves- it sure seems to float their boat.

Lycra, sequins, false lashes and brightly painted talons, as far as I know they can show a bit of flesh or a lot of flesh if they want.

I am not saying that is the life I would like or anyone should aspire to, but even a die hard defender of the Islamic faith like yourself, you must admit it looks a whole lot freer than the black robed Muslims.

And at the risk of being slated yet again for mentioning it, at least the females get to keep all their nether bits intact, so they can at least have some fun in the bedroom, no matter if it is in a caravan.

I think the problem is with your posts is the generalisation, ---apart from some countries eg Saudi Arabia, most Muslim women are not "black robed".
In India which has one of the highest, by number, of Muslims only one of the 28 States and one city will you see a majority of Muslim women "black robed".

Not constantly criticising Muslims as happens on this thread and others; does not indicate a defence of Islamic faith.

Back to topic just come back from hospital outpatients (OH having a scan)
He was reading the Telegraph, (will only read this or Times) a Muslim man (and wife not black robed) was reading the Sun!!!!
I read what ever is available, too mean to buy any. Quite like the Independent though.

You attack Muslims for treating women like shit and use Irish travellers as an example of how women should be treated? It's almost like you deliberately set out to behave in an ignorant way. Do you have any idea what a shit life women have as Irish Travellers? Taken out of school early because they "don't need an education to have kids".... My exasperation was at your comment about not knowing any Muslims or anything about them or their religion.... Also it seems about the plight of women in closed communities world wide. Still, you keep banging the anti-Muslim drum love, it's not painting you in any way at all.

I think if you care to check it was EMR who brought up the Irish gypsies, when I asked for positives for women under Islam.

So I think you need to calm down.

I admit I think Islam is the worst religion, which I am entitled to do so.

And because I dont like it, and not afraid to say so, it seems to get on your nerves - and others nerves.

And it is always one of the 'Islam fans'that bring other groups into the discussion to lessen the evils if Islam, so to speak.

I am not a fan of gypsies either, and I agree that the traveller women are treated badly.

But time me it seems that there is a lot of ' carrot and stick' about their women's lives, as opposed to Muslim women's lives which are just 'stick and even bigger stick'.

Now, why should any woman show tolerance to any group of people, of whatever colour or religion, whose beliefs are more or less based on the fact that females are evil.

Men rape a woman, punish the woman.

So you expect me to show tolerance to the most intolerant group going?

A woman has sex outside marriage- punish the woman.
They should not tempt men by showing flesh, their face or the hair in their head, the must not mix with males, and if a woman brings dishonor on the family, better to marry her off, or even kill her.

And unlike Islamic intolerance, it is words on a screen, whereas Islamic intolerance, at times leaves women with no skin on their back, and sometimes even worse results.

Btw I see there have been no examples under Islam where women get a fair crack of the whip, excuse the pun.

There you go again as though it is all of them!!!! In some countries, in some families everywhere yes you are right.

Yes, I agree that radical Islam is a world danger, that in many, (usually, poorer areas) including of UK, Muslim women can lead terrible lives.

But there are many millions of Muslims worldwide to whom this description does not apply.

It is always wrong to say 'Christians' do this, 'Hindus' do that. 'People' male or female are not identical clones.

I should have realised that like Stu you have reading difficulties .

I pointed out that Islam is not the only religion/group that does NOT treat women fairly and that your strong views about these rights would receive a better reception if you did not bring your obvious religious hatred of Muslims into it.
You have often admitted your ignorance of Islam and in fact most of the other communities that now live in the UK.
How then can your views be taken seriously when you are not prepared to expand your knowledge beyond your own bias.
