Waiting to see if they come on agin this evening, such a shame it really nice sitting in the garden with only the solar lights to keep us company

What a great read this thread has been!I have read it from start to finish this morning while the rain pelts against my window. For anyone interested I will tell the story of my purchase.
Selected a house on the urbanisation in Hondon in October 2006 and paid a small reservation fee to the agent.
There followed a flurry of communications from the agent all with the intent of rushing me through the purchase process. They very generously opened a bank account, arranged a solicitor and applied for a mortgage for me all without my consent.
In February 2007 appointed a UK solicitor with an associate in Spain to manage the purchase.
Wrangle,argue,dispute,argue,wrangle.
June 24th 2008 email from solicitor saying all paperwork received and trying to get an appointment with Notary to complete!
Only twenty months waiting and the end may / may not be near.
The irony is I am buying a house which in October 2006 was key in hand and I am paying cash!
I would reinforce the comments of other contributors, never use a solicitor recommended by an agent. You pay the solicitor to protect your interests and they cannot do so while they have a foot in each camp.Challenge every cost and fee and do not allow yourself to be manipulated into paying for something which you do not feel is your responsibility.
I am looking forward to using my house soon and I am confident that the wait will have been worthwhile. In the meantime thanks for the information and chat supplied on this thread - keep up the good work.

I have a Fred Flintstone house as we bought the showhouse. I must admit I preferred the White houses initially however the interior of ours has a seperate kitchen so can keep kitchen noise and smells seperate from the living area. (cooking is not one of my fave pastimes) You can also access the roof terrace (which is massive) from the kitchen through a seperate utility area which is very handy for the bib, mops, buckets etc. Other than that they provide a welcome break from white bungalows. You and Linda will have to come for a coffee and have a nosy (so long as I can nosy at yours too!

I believe the properties do have the habitation certificates Linda!
I live in Albatera in the campo and was never keen on urbs but i think this is the nicest one I have seen with the mountains and the houses not too close!

Yes i agree its quite a nice erb, we saw others but the houses are all so close with no privacy at all. But our communal pools arent that good to other i have seen, still you cant have everything & how many people will use them anyway?
Wouldnt mind a look at the flinstone house myself, any offers???

I am assured by my solicitor in whom I trust that one in particular has a certificate of habitation are you positive you know no other properties you know have them

Its not a house I am buying or anything and I have used my solicitor 40 times plus to oversee purchases of legal properties... I understand what you mean when you say trust no one but there are exceptions to Every rule!!
